Hey Gabster! I sure am going to the vigil again! I still have all the money that I saved up for last year's vigil! Yaaaaay! ;D Now I just gotta save up for our S. Francisco adventure! But I should have enough by then, eh? I can hardly way! I also plan on staying in Indiana for a week or so... I mean, we gotta go to San Francisco together, right? Anyway, I'll post more stuff later.. it's really late over here and me needs some sleep! Nata

this will be my first vigil, and i can't wait. i'd love to get to know everyone and meet them. my plans are to come with my boyfriend, bob. yes that's his real name. he's a melonhead, too. we were actually best friends for a long time, until one night we were listening to melon stoned and realized that we are pretty perfect for each other. presently, he lives an hour away, but he's moving to akron in august (yay!) i digress! we're coming, most likely on friday, after classes and i have no idea what the plans are after that. get a motel room? camp? whats the common procedure? where do all the other melons stay? i'd love to hear everyone else's two cents on their vigil plans. this is a good thread. z

Hello Zoe!
Well, usually people stay at the "knights inn" or at the "budget inn"... those are the cheapest hotels. When I went in 2003, we made reservations for the "budget inn" a few months prior to the vigil, but my other friends hadn't made any reservations and they got a room right away at the "knights inn". Later on we found out that the knights inn was cheaper ($33 bucks a nite while the budget inn was $45) and they basically had the same stuff...
So I guess it's not hard to get a room there, you just have to make sure they're not having those Indy races or whatever it's called (LOL) cause that's when the hotels get packed...
Hope that helps and can't wait to see you there! :bee:

Yay Im glad you guys are going to be coming! Charles, will you be flying from France just for the vigil or will you be around here during that time?
You know I think this is a great place for you guys that are coming for the first time to ask all the questions you need to know. I mean it's always good to have everything planned ahead of time right?
Oh btw... I would REALLY recommend that you bring a lot of warm clothes and blankets if possible... It is pretty hot there during the day but it gets EXTREMELY cold at night... And you MIGHT not want to come back to the hotel at night (thats what Amanda, Fer and I did last year) so it is advised that you be prepared just in case.. we werent and well... It was an amazing experience, but I thought I was going to freeze to death!
Zoe, how far from IN do you live? Saturday is the official vigil day, but man if I were you I'd try to be there Friday night.. It's a very special time, not so crowded and very intimate you know? Thats the best time to meet everyone and more importantly have a more private moment with Shannon... Oh and DEFFINITELY be there for VIGILSTOCK which is just beautiful!
Ok, this is lso long.. heheheh I just get too excited when it comes to the vigil! lol sorry!

If I do go, this will be my first. Just need to get there. I am very "spur of the moment"... So, you never know.

Gabbee... I'm in Akron, OH (south of cleveland) about 5 hours from Dayton, IN. Not bad at all. I love driving, as long as I have all my music. We'll just hop in the car and go asap. I was figuring on Friday like you said, just to get the extra day and hang around and be with melonheads Where are you coming from? Ah, getting excited again! z

Sweet! Theres actually lots of people that come from OH... But yeah I will be coming from Dallas/TX... There is a slight poossibility I will be driving there with a friend, but most likely I will do the same as last year and just fly into Indianapolis and then Fer and I were planning on renting a car from there, but Im not sure she;s still up for it If something goes wront, theres always the shuttle that takes people from the airport to lafayette (if anyone needs info on that, go to blindmelon.org, their vigil section is VERY helpful!)
So Charles, Gelfing, Shiinstheory and everyone who are planning on coming, what are your plans so far? Where do you guys plan on staying, how are you getting there, etc?
