YES! Bring on some new music! "Which is good news for Blind Melon fans pre-Travis, the band will perform the infamous "No Rain," which was recorded with previous lead singer, the late Shannon Hoon." LULZ! Most BM fans "Pre Travis" would agree that "No Rain" isn't even in their best 20 songs . More like "Which is good news, for those who can only remember that one song with a girl dressed up as a bee in the video." And they posted the video underneath too! Would have been a whole lot cooler if they had the "Tones of Home" clip (at least), or better yet (maybe 500,000 fed up faces?...sorry) a bitchin' live version of "Time" at the end of the article

I would definitely go, I think the general public would pan it (seriously, can't some people just enjoy the music?!?) as there are three bands, with three new lead singers. But I would be all over a tour like that... The only band I've seen live before is the new AiC who absolutely kill it live! I love both the lineups of BM (and side projects, solo works, backing bands etc), and have bootegs galore of both lineups BM is my second favourite band (to the Beatles), and it kills me that I haven't seen them live before! ... and that Rome kid with Sublime has chops (Sublime is the only one I can understand a backlash with, Brad WAS Sublime, Rome has big balls to step in there)..

I have the Galaxie vinyl... And I also have a yellow vinyl 7" of No Rain... The front cover has a still from the No Rain video, and a strip along the top of the picture says that it includes "No Bidness" Haven't had a look at it for a while, but I'll check when I get home and write any more details! $20 seems a good price for the Galaxie $40 seems quite a bit..... Actually thinking about it now, I'm pretty sure the one you are looking at is a Capitol Jukebox press for No Rain, with Tones as the B side. Purple label with a large spindle hole right? Yeah $40 is a bit much!

"So if I see you, walking hand in hand in hand with a three armed man... I'll understand."
"Doesn't anybody feel, that all these killers should be killed? And all these healers should be healed so all these beggars can be filled."

Unfortunately "Worthpoint" is just an online valuation site for rare items, it tracks auctions and sales to come up with a market value. You cannot buy items from that site

It's a misprint.
I have a 12" black vinyl copy and it has the same tracks as the first post. (time and Wooh DOG).

Thanks for this, I'd never heard the song until now! I wish they'd get back in the studio and record a new LP! (Though the Abandon Jalopy album is enough to keep me happy for the moment) I also found this version, which (even though I only just discovered the song) I think is better

they've always looked out for their fans, always been "one" with the fans, and in '07-'08, nothing had changed. ^^ THIS. I'd love to see them jump on a few international touring festivals.... The Soundwave, Splendor in the Grass or Big Day Out festivals in Australia would be ideal! I don't know the names of many others over the world, but if Australia has ones such as those that I listed above, there has got to be a whole bunch that Melon could jump on overseas! I think that is the logical next step for the reunited band

"If I see you, walking hand in hand in hand with a three armed man, I'll understand." In the yearbook in my year of graduation, that was my parting comment/quote

I didn't really enjoy For My Friends to be honest. I like the slick, rolling guitar of the original blind melon. Seemed to be missing. Listen to Paper Scratcher, 2x4 or Pull for examples of the guitar and how no one else plays music like this <<. Rick Parasher and Andy Wallace don't get enough credit for producing great tracks with great musicians. I think a major problem with the disc is the mastering, the production was great (Chris and Brad know how to capture a band) but they mastered this thing waaaay too hot... It butchered any subtlety in the production, and ruined dynamics and cohesion in the instruments EVERYTHING WAS JUST LOUD ALL THE TIME LIKE THE DISC WAS YELLING AT YOU (The same goes for the Unified Theory disc, actually the UT disc was even louder). Modern mastering techiques are a bitch.... And they'll never effectively acheive that "Melon Sound" without easing off on the compression and limiting.. If only they'd released FMF on vinyl Songwise however, FMF was pretty good, some of the lyrics were a bit clunky... However there were some bright moments (Father Time (some cringy lyrics, but beautiful, especially the guitar work), So High (Excellent, maybe the closest to the sound of the past, could have fit on either of the other Melon albums), Wishing Well (great, save the "frown" line), Make a Difference was excellent, as was the title track (I could go on listing each track, but meh).

I know it's a little off topic, but speaking of live drumming. One of my favourite Melon/Glen moments is the Canadian "Much Music" special, at the end of "St. Andrews Fall/Hall" where the bongo player is keeping up with Glen and he looks over to him at it's peak and gives off a (you're doing OK smile). Classic

My favourite at the moment is "Glitch." My least favourite (and probably ONLY Melon song I don't enjoy) is "Frosting a Cake," I'd actually go as far as saying I hate it! I can totally understand it not making the "Soup" record

The drumming at the end of "The Duke," I was just driving around in my car (once again) blaring the Soup record, tapping along as I always do.... And felt inclined to make this post!

They are the same take, but they have different edits. One goes for longer... On the last line ...."If I could walk away from me?" On one of the versions you can hear Shannon sing/speaking "Eee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee" Until the track ends. I can't remember which one is which though! It's been a long time
