I had to start a thread for The Office because both versions are my favorite t.v. shows. I wish they still made the British version and every week I can't miss the American version. Does anyone else get into either or both of these? I have never gotten into any t.v. show like I get into The Office.

OMG I love the US version, it's one of the few shows I actually watch religiously. I think it's one of the funniest shows on TV, although a lot of people I know don't like it. It's not one of those joke based comedies, you actually have to understand the characters and appreciate the pauses and glances from them. What did you think of the episode that aired this past Thursday? I can't stand that Andy guy, I hope he gets fired or he quits. So annoying. I'm glad Oscar and Dwight are back too.

Totally awesome show... i think it is so good cause it is so relatable, and Steve Carrell is a genius... what season is the US version up to there... we only just finished the 2nd...

I can't believe they figured out a way to make Dwight more likable! Andy is such a dipshit...I think we would all choose Dwight over Andy any day...I also hope Andy gets fired or quits, although I do like how now Jim has somebody new to pull pranks on with Pam. I almost died when Jim confessed to what's-her-face that he still had feelings for Pam. I can't wait to see how all this plays out. (I'm not trying to be rude by calling her "what's-her-face" I really can't think of her character's name. I like her and I think her situation sucks.) It looks like this Thursday is going to be reruns...they always do that! They'll build up to a really good episode and then leave you hanging for awhile. Did you see the episode where Michael came back from Sandals in Jamaica with those photos of him and Jan? Greg and I think that Jan may not have even gone with him and he photoshopped those photos. The way she acted in the end of the episode seemed almost like they didn't just get back from a week long vacation with each other. I think it would be hilarious if he doctored some photos and then gets caught later. God...I talk about this show like the characters are real people! That's what I love about it though. When you have good character development you don't need laugh tracks and ridiculous situations to be funny.

I agree Steve Carrell is a genius! I just hope he doesn't become too big of a star and want to leave the show. I doubt that would happen though because he's supposedly a very kind, down to earth, humble guy. In my opinion he deserves every bit of fame that he gets. Did you know that he was almost a regular on Saturday Night Live back in the day? The casting directors had it narrowed down to either Steve Carrell or Wil Ferrell...obviously Wil Ferrell got the job. I can't imagine having to be the person to choose between those two, they are both very talented guys. I have to say that I prefer Steve Carrell as a comedic actor. Wil Ferrell can get just a little too silly sometimes for my taste. We're in the middle of the 3rd season of The Office so you're not too far behind. Sorry, I just gave away a bunch of spoilers from the first half of the 3rd season in my previous post. Personally I thought the 3rd season started off kind of weak but it's all because of what they are building up to...so when you start watching the new season just stick with it and everything will come together eventually.

Steve Carrell did one of the voices of the Ambiguously Gay Duo, along with Steven Colbert. I read that The Office got picked up for a forth season recently, which totally made my day when I read it.
What do you think about Toby? He is one of the best characters on the show. I love the relationship between Michael and Toby, genius! Michael despises him because Toby gives him reality checks whenever Michael wants to do something crazy, like the Boy Scouts Casino night. Or when Dwight brought in that dead duck, I laughed my ass off. Toby- "Didn't we have this conversation for like a half hour the last time you brought in a animal?" LMAO
I wonder what's going to come of Jim and Pam's relationship? Maybe he'll get together with Pam, and then Ryan will get together with the "exotic looking" woman.

Sonya, i fortunately skipped over the first part, so you didnt spoil it for me... lol... speaking of Will Ferrell, his new movie Stranger Than Fiction looks as if it will be awesome... a great story concept, completely outside the box...

I agree that the Toby/Michael relationship is genius! Remember how Toby had to keep a seperate box of complaints about Michael? If Ryan gets with the "exotic looking" woman then what will happen to annoying Kelly? I bet she would turn psycho on them. I'm also glad that Oscar is back. "Your gayness does not define you. Your Mexican-ness is what defines you. To me. And I think we should celebrate Oscar’s Mexicanity."

I loved it when Dwight came back after quiting, and he sees that they're having a party. He asks if it's for him, even though there's clearly a "Welcome Back Oscar" sign hanging up. Michael then asks if he's ready to break some pinatas, and Oscar reaches for the bat. Michael passes him up and gives it to Dwight. Hilarious! He goes nuts on all the pinatas.
Also, when Toby told Michael about the bird he saw fly into the window in the morning, and then Michael runs outside to try and save it, even though it's obviously dead. He freaks out and says Toby killed it. LOL
OMG. I know what you mean about referring to the characters like they're real. I do the same thing. I'll talk about the characters like I know them.

if you're after the US first season, there is only 6 episodes... i was kinda pissed off at that, cause it is only 2 hours long and you know how much a dvd is... and the 2nd season is never in stores... i suppose i cant go back in time and tell them to make more episodes in the first season...
