Finally picked up the Twilight series everybody's been talking about. I'm halfway through New Moon (second one) and although I don't like it as much as the first one (for obvious reasons), I still can't put it down.
It took me less than 2 days to read Twilight, what an addicting book.

The movie comes out Friday, I hope it is as good as the books. Or at least, that it does justice to the books.

Yes! I have tickets to go see it the day it comes out. I hope it's not too cheesy. I was disappointed by the actor they chose to play Edward. He's gorgeous but from what I've seen on the trailer, they didn't make him look very beautiful at all

I heard it was an awesome series as well. The highschool girl I have as a babysitter has read the whole series, she LOVED it. I am reading the Kite Runner, anyone here read it? It takes me so long to read anything... but I am half way through it

The movie Twilight was quite disappointing. Horrible acting and adaption, I thought Stick to the book! I am reading the Kite Runner, anyone here read it? It takes me so long to read anything... but I am half way through it I saw the preview for the movie and thought it seemed like an interesting story. I didn't know there was a book out. How do you like it? I might pick it up when I'm done with the Twilight series.

Ugh, I'm kinda glad to hear it sucked... now I can make fun of people who spent money on it.
Just kidding, but I am beyond tired of hearing about it... As of now, Tracy is seeing it I think, she got dragged into going by her sister. I opted to stay with Amber. muah ha ha ha!

I will still go, but now with not as high expectations. Let me know your thoughts!! Maybe it'll be better for you now that you're not expecting too much. Maybe that's why I disliked it so much, I had pretty high expectations. What did you think of "Bella"? None of the people I went with seemed too bothered but that girl's acting really got on my nerves. I thought she was waaaaay off. You know, before I ever picked up the book I felt the same way. I couldn't stand to hear about it anymore and it wasn't until I saw it recommended on this thread that I decided to give it a chance (melonheads have such good taste!). I loved the first book but did think it was a little too lovey-dovey. The second book was a little harder to get through, but halfway into it I couldnt put it down. It wasn't until then that Stephanie Meyer won me over. Eclipse is what made me a fan though. I'm sad that I'm almost done with the fourth one

Just bought Slash's autiobiography today. He was interviewed on the Candian CBC radio this past week. It was a pretty cool 20 min listen. I was at work when it came on, otherwise i woulda nabbed its' stream. His mom designed clothes for many stars like Ringo Starr, Lennon, Bill Cosby & his wife, a well as David Bowie whom she had an affair with. His dad came from Europe, and was an artist. He did albums for Joni Mitchell who fequented their home. Slash's first name is "Saul". I'm already on about page 30. It's tough to concentrate in a house that spins with activity. OH. there's a pic of Slash's wife with Slash @ the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas; he's naked next to a display case, and she's kissing his bare ass if i'm really good, perhaps santa will drop off Clapton's autobiography found the "Q" interview w/ Slash on Youtube. ;D Q is a Canadian wide radio broadcast.

Gabbee, I was disappointed with Twilight (the movie) too... but that was due to me being so completely obsessed with the book that I knew it front to back. I recognized every flaw the film had but I went and saw it a second time and I ended up loving it. I let go of everything that was different/not included and I left the theatre much happier. I've ended up seeing it 5 times so far with different people and every time I see it I like it more.
'New Moon' was given the green light by Summit Ent. and I think that with a bigger budget and more time that it has the chance to be really great

I went again this week with a friend that wanted to see it and I REALLY liked it. I still hate Kristen Stewart's acting and what they did to Jasper, but everything else felt right this time. Like I said, I think I just went in with very high expectation's the first time. That and I didn't know it was a low budget film prior to going in, so I was expecting a major production (though I don't mind that part, there are so many awesome independent movies). I think I'm gonna start a thread for the Twilight Series, I think it'd be fun to discuss all the books with you guys.

Tracy said the movie sucked and made her want to read the books less.
