About halfway through The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe. Surreal, but good!

^I've been looking for that book... not very hard since I have four books on the go right now but still lol
It turns out I go to the library in my school enough for the librarian to know my name and request a book for me to check out. I'm currently reading "Feed" I forget who the author is... I'm not very far into it because it's my at school book but it's alright so far. I plan to read The Shining next since I never finished it before but I'll probably be more into it these days than 4 years ago...

2 books I have on order now are Beautiful Boy: A Father's Journey Through His Son's Meth Addiction by David Sheff and the accompanying book written by his son from a first person perspective Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines by Nic Sheff. I have read parts in reviews and they both seem amazing.

I've read all of his books. I found Running With Scissors to be a little unrealistic, even if it it based on real events. I loved Dry. It's all about his struggle with addiction. Magical Thinking and Possible Side Effects were good also. He wrote a novel too called Sellevision. Hysterical!
I think I may have some of his books if you want them. Just PM me your addy.

Just finished Love & Death. It is about the conspiracy theory surrounding Kurt Cobain's death. It was an excellent book! If you ever had any doubts about what really happend to Kurt, this book does a great job piecing together all the little inconsistancies in the reports. I highly recommend it.

I freakin' loved that book!!! It still makes me so mad because you can't tell me everything was just a coincidence. The fake suicide attempt the night that Tom Grant and Dylan Carson (I think those names are right...it's been a while) were looking for Kurt, conveniently the day that he died. Then the emergency call to the electrician for the greenhouse. The handwriting samples in Courtney's bag...come on!!!!

I totally agree. After reading that book, I have no doubts that Courtney hired someone to kill Kurt and make it look like a suicide. There are just too many things that add up. El Duce dies a week after telling a reporter that his friend Allen killed Kurt. Allen is driving Courney's old 94 Lexus when he doesn't have a dime. Among lots of other things.

I finished "Feed" a while ago and it wasn't that good...some things were cool but I guess just not my kind of book.
I didn't get very far in the shining because another book caught my attention...which I also ended up putting down before I finished.
I went on a trip to get books for the school last week... I couldn't find some things I was looking for but I got "Kingdom of Fear" by Hunter S. Thompson, "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde, "A Portrait of the Artist As a Young Man" by James Joyce, Short Stories by Fyodor Dostoevsky, and "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" by Mark Haddon.
I'm currently reading The Picture of Dorian Gray and I like it so far though I'm not very far so I'll have to make more time to read it...

Connie and Karen, I just wanted to say thanks for the recommendation... I picked up "Running with Scissors" and am about 100 pages into it. I agree with Karen, I find it a little bit unrealistic but it's a great book, nonetheless.
My local library also has: Magical Thinking, Possible Side Effects and A Wolf at the Table. Which one should I check out first?
Recommendation of the day: The Secret. About the law of atraction. Boring at first, powerful when you get into it.

I'd go with Magical Thinking. I loved it. I liked that it was just a collection of stories, all of which are pretty funny! Believe me, the others are better than Running With Scissors.
Connie, I still haven't mailed out your books. I was trying to finish A Wolf At The Table before I sent them. I'll have them out soon though.
