By the way! For anyone who cares: Hyatt Regency Columbus 350 N HIGH ST Columbus, OH 43215 This Hotel is about 1200 feet from the venue. Their room rates are around $130 a night. Also have banquet rooms for a possible BMforum meet and greet/party. If any knows of a HOTEL any closer plz post! That's definitely the closest hotel. I work across the street from it. It's probably less than 5 minutes from there to the venue. Also, across the street from the hotel is the Arena District where there are a few restaurants/bars. Now, because it's a home OSU game, rooms might be tough to come by. I was going to suggest a few other hotels but they are all close to OSU and I'm sure they are sold out. And, for those thinking about driving a long distance, keep in mind what Rogers said. This is just the one date that is listed on a club site. I'm sure more will be coming soon though I have to admit to being totally surprised that they'd be playing in Ohio, let alone Columbus. I thought for sure this was going to be a West Coast or East Coast only tour. We chose Columbus because we thought we could count on at least you to be there, Chip. But seriously folks....there's going to be a few shows before this one. I was s'posed to have the dates today but I guess now tomorrow because I'm going to go stare at my eyelids for a few hours now. Got up super-early today and didn't sleep well the last few nights. Boo-fucking hoo for me, huh. Hung out at Danny Clinch's film editing place today and looked at a video they did for us....we're going to put it up on the internet in a day or so. I also saw a trailer for a new film he's done about Pearl Jam...looked amazing. I'll put up the dates here when I get them....

This seems weird to me. Is the band playing with us and not informing us of their first show? Do they want us to discover this for ourselves? Just seems weird no one made an announcement. we were waiting until we get all the dates before we announced......I didn't know this was confirmed either until just now, so you got the news when I did. We knew things were being routed, with some confirmed and some not yet....I guess this place is confirmed. Anyway, I'm s'posed to be getting these any day now, so i'll let ya'll know when we do..... rogers

We'll be touring in the summer...well before our album is out. It generally takes 3 months from when the masters are delivered to a label before the release date.
you'll see us around by July, I'd estimate...

I don't know what it is....sounds like a volume pedal to me....pretty cool. Sleepyhouse is an ebow....
You can do volume swells with your pinky. just turn the volume knob on the guitar all the way down, pick a string and then slowly turn it up. Works well on a strat because of where the volume knob is in relation to your hand. I learned that from Eddie Van Halen when I was still begging my mama for titty milk.

Cheyenne's a doll.....really cool girl who has a lot of potential as a songwriter and performer. She won some big TV contest for America's Most Talented kid or something, and got a record deal after that. She knows more about Blind Melon than I do! Brad and CT did some songs on her record and I played on some stuff. I have not heard the record so I don't know what is actually on there because she worked with some other producers as well. I do know that I played a guitar solo that she loved and one of the record company weasles asked Brad and CT to cut it because it was too 'out there'. Sigh....Anyhoo, I have not let those guys forget that they cut out my guitar solo. I will now be playing 3 guitar solos in every song on our new record. Even Cheyenne's mom liked my guitar solo. One day I was in the studio with Brad and Ct and Cheyenne and some others, and our accountant who is also her accountant came down and she played him a song. I was really impressed because she's one of those people who can pick up an acoustic guitar and play you a song and knock your socks off. I think she was maybe 14 at the time!

I'm not sure what this is about, but we have not had 'no rain' on our myspace page for several months now....the band only runs one page at myspace.com/blindmelon....any other page you have gotten the song from is not us.....

Hi I shall end the speculation. I used a MXR Flanger (the grey box one) from the 70's. The make a reissue of that pedal, but don't even bother with that one. It's in the same box but the guts are totally different. The 70's version is a great pedal. I don't have it anymore and am using a fulltone choral-flange on that song and don't really like it. I'm looking for a good flanger. the best one is the ADA, but they aren't made anymore. I'm waiting on buildyourownclone.com to release their kit and i'm going to build it....

hello Friends,
The album's totally done. Damn...that took a long time. Anyway, just listened to all the mastering and it sounds great. Here's the tracklist sequence:
1. for my friends 2. right set of eyes 3. wishing well 4. sometimes 5. tumblin down 6. down on the pharmacy 7. make a difference 8. harmful belly 9. last laugh 10. hypnotized 11. father time 12. so high 13. cheetum street (featuring a duet with Travis' mom, the fabulous Tennessee Tuckness...what a voice!)
We're all lathered up and ready for the race, so go ahead and smack us on the ass and take a ride. In early April we'll prolly have the album for sale with us on the road, so git yer wallet hand warmed up. Or borrow a copy from your friend and burn it. You know how it goes.....
Your support here is very much appreciated. Have I told you that lately? And you look fantastic in that dress....I mean it, Matt.

Anyone notice the new page doesn't have the memorial to Shannon anymore? Sad...I see absolutely no reason that it shouldn't stay there... We'll have something on the page that will be better than the one you are referencing. I made that photo deal myself and didn't think it looked that great. Somebody else designed the new page (way better at this stuff than me), and it's still being worked on. We'll have something up soon. I'd like to state this for future reference: At every turn that we take and with every thing that we do, we always consider Shannon. It's very difficult to make everything perfect all the time, and in an instance like this, before we have time to address the issue, people are upset about it. I am proud of the way we have preserved Shannon's memory to this point, from the great care that we put into the "Nico" record, to the DVDs, Behind the Music etc, to the way we conduct ourselves and the way we play his songs. We'll ALWAYS remember Shannon and we'll ALWAYS do our best to make sure everybody else does. Even if we did a terrible job with all this, he'd never be forgotten because of the incredible stuff he did in his life. rogers

Guys, I am very sorry to see this and very sorry that you have had problems. This is the first I've heard of this and I can't tell you how pissed off I am right now. I'm going to make some phone calls today and see if I can get to the bottom of this. I'll let you know what I find out.
thanks,
Rogers

Personally I don't mind that you all, and especially you all here on the forum, get these songs because I know that ya'll support us and will buy tickets to the shows and stuff like that. The only drag about that particular song is that it's not finished and we want the songs to be as good as possible before they leaves our possession. I'm totally baffled as to how it got around, but none of us are really sweating it. So I guess my comment about it would be to enjoy it and know that it'll be better when it is completed. in fact, all the stuff ya'll have heard will sound a lot better when mastered at full resolution, not to mention we'll probably remix a couple or 3 tracks...

...is coming right along, folks. We're deep into it now. Sorry for the recent lack of updates but it's been busy. We're up to 20 tracks now...10 finished and 10 in various states of completion. Not sure how many more we'll do. We should be done with all the tracking by the first week of July and then we'll mix it and see which songs rise to the top of the pile. We'll probably end up with 20-25 finished songs, so that'll give us some things to come out later.....
