I was just listening to Ugly Kid Joe who are now defunct so I went to you tube to listen to more and their frontman Whitfield Crane I think could be a fit, he's got the charisma thing and quite the voice and had some success in the early 90's. The guys would know more about him personality wise. Did you ever hear the song "Busy Bee" from UKJ? Sounds very Melonesque and Ive always thought that.

whitfield crane is a joke With all due respect, Hey, I was talking voice & experience, if you're going to call him a joke, you're going to have to explain yourself. I don't know a damned thing about him other then they did a great cover of of ac/dc's Ride On and I think they did justice to Bon Scott. So start s'planing, cause I don't delve into who they are and what they do and what they're personalities are. Actually while I've had time on my hands holed up at home I did read up on a few bands and lost respect for some of the frontmen I had immense respect for, but I will eat my words before I post them. Music lovers run the spectrum what may be great to your ears might be crap to someone else's...........

I am not worried. Worst case scenario, we just wait until their children are a bit older and can reach the microphone. Here's what the guitarist from Unearth did with his kid!

After reading this I had to look up Whitfield Crane to see what he's doing now. Looks like he's in a band called Another Animal but they're not doing anything right now. I listened to some samples on myspace...sounds like Alice In Chains type stuff but there are also heavier songs. But by reading their bulletins it looks like they aren't doing anything right now and basically let fans know that in order for them to tour people have to buy the album as opposed to downloading it. It was actually very true and well said bulletin.
I didn't mind UKJ but never really listened to them. I'd be curious to hear him sing BM songs. It's hard to tell cause his voice is so heavy now. Some of his old stuff sounds like maybe he could do it, but then the other stuff not so much. I don't know how consistent he'd be or how much BM he could actually sing.

before BM came back with travis i always thought the band should come back with a new singer, back then i thought kraus whould be the perfect choice because of her connection with the band but i think my thoughts were clouded by the fact im a fan of hers and the band but now i realise it wouldnt work. jenas voice is too 'soft' for the band and as good as she is solo it wouldnt work with BM. before travis joined it was always a very sensitive thing to bring up someone coming into the band after shannon (which is easy to understand) but now travis has come and gone but also got the BM ball rolling again i think there are a few singers who would suit as new lead singer. i love willard ross (but he seems impossible to track down and im beginning to wonder if he exists) he actually sounds like hes influenced by BM. i also love linda perry she possess one of the best voices in music (but she seems busy these days making millions writing pop songs for pink and christina aguilera) and another person i love is Sky Sunlight Saxon, good voice, from vids i seen he looks great live and he has an amazing bio in music but just like BM he is extremly underated. i think hes about 64 years old now but his voice is still great and i really think hed be a great choice for the band. sky in 2009 live a track from the 60s and theres probably a few others singers ive forgotten about or havent yet heard of that may be able to do it too.

After watching that video (2009), I, personally, do not think he would fit in at all. Can you picture him singing Wilt or 2x4? It would be funny to watch though! Again, just my opinion.

waltermelon, whatever you are smoking I want some, and I mean that with no disrespect.
I am absolutely amazed at some of the suggestions for singers I have seen. I guess BM is a lot of different things to a lot of people. I just don't get where some of you are coming from. I really can't offer any suggestions myself because I believe if there is someone out there I haven't heard them yet, kinda like Travis.
It would be a wet dream to hear the boys collaborate with Robert Plant, too bad he's busy with that Allison Kraus thing.
