more on point. I am not worried because Glen said on his blog "don't worry". which I thanked him for. if it's is the end. they brought it back and I got to see my favorite band live again. I will be forever indebted to them for that.

I certainly would like to hear more from the boys, for now I will get by on what I have on my Zune. I still feel that Travis will go solo for a bit, not be successful, and a couple of years from now HE will be the subject of reunion talks with Blind Melon. This will be after a failed version with somebody that they have screened thoroughly but the fans will have a hard time embracing. This is a mild prediction, seriously I like travis' solo stuff, but it is totally in the same genre as Blind Melon and if they cannot create a bigger buzz than the last album did, he has no shot. Part of the problem is that the music industry has changed a lot. You are either Britney or Kanye or a Jam band with a fanbase ("I added base to make it sound larger" ;)nowadays, Anything in between just gots forgotten. I did like the band the guys helped produce, American Minor ..are they still around? How about Axl's GnR tour goes miserably and he joins Blind melon.....of course it would have to be billed as Axl's Blind Melon ...just because that is Axl.

I am worried about the state of Blind Melon for sure. Let me start by saying Blind Melon has been my favorite band since '94. Saw them 4 times last tour and thought they all were great. However, is it just me or does it seem they can not get their sh*t together. First they disappear for 13 years because they can't find a new singer that fits. Then out of left field the find Travis who was recording demos w/ Chris and Brad, then was asked to front the band. Then after a few years he's....gone. Chris Sinn then is scheduled to sing for them at the NYE show....then he's gone. Then Travis plays 1 more NYE show....then he's gone...again. Then they get 300 singers to send them tapes, they only audition 3 and none of them get the gig. I honestly think the problem is the band. My feelings will change if the get a new singer and record/tour again because no matter what happens to Blind Melon, I will be a melonhead forever.

I'm just saying for me, I'm scared that I'll never see them live. I have no doubt in their talent, no doubt in their ability, no doubt in their desire. I have no doubt someone will pop up when it's right, just like with TTW or even w/him again down the road as someone else stated, there will indeed be Mach3. My problem is my paranoia at being a two-time loser here almost assures me that when that singer comes along and I buy tickets for that show, I will step off a corner and get hit by a bus! #lmao# If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. #haha#

people talk about travis comin back but all i have to do is watch the live footage of 'change' with nico and nel welcoming him into the BM family and it just makes me angry that most of us wouldve done anything to be in his position and it just seems to me he totally used the band to help get his name out there. The 3rd singer could be mindblowing awesome and record 5 classic albums with the band but its sad that those moments with nel and nico are used up on someone who didnt appreciate how good he had it. you cant see nel coming out and giving her blessing to the next singer now even if she wanted to because it wouldnt seem genuine because she gave travis a beautiful compliment that night and he just threw it back at her in the end.

i think its just gonna take time...im willing to accept anyone they see worthy of the melonness!! like its been said hundreds of times before, 4/5 of blind melon are up and ready to go. i nor anyone else accept the band will ever know what truly happened...yeah, all the crazy blew the "band" to heck, but the band members are still the same talented people theyve always been. I think nel is an amazing, open minded and openhearted person, i think she would accept anyone who came out to sing shannon's songs with sincerity and heart....it was obvious how proud she was to see someone bring shannon's music back to the stage. ive read her blogs and they sound nothing but supportive, understanding, and open minded. i know someone that i really think would bring the sincerity and heart back to the band and i think nel would really approve of, but its up to the band and who they see bringin the magic back!!

The ONLY way you get played on corporate rock radio today, is if your record company pays to have you played. period. It has nothing to do with talent. If you believe otherwise you are very naive. Keep in mind the guys financed the album themselves. There is no record company to pay to have it forced down your throat. Agree 100 %, the music industry has created a monster that can't be stopped, follow "the format" or they chew them up and spit them out. I respect the guys for financing this themselves. I hope a lot of artists will do the same. You wouldn't have to listen to shit all day. As for a new singer I had high hopes for Chris but it didn't gel. I think they need someone with more experience that is more their caliber, my family has some very talented musicians, they do some melon tunes but they say it's really hard to play. Whatever happens I'll always listen to melon.

I don't think Travis intended to use the band. I think it was a dream come true for him. But it was all new experiences...you never know how one will react to that until it happens. And as much as you love something you are who you are...Travis could just be a chronic bailer. Although I think there was much more going on. But it doesn't really matter now...and I totally get what you mean about those moments and it won't ever be the same again. I do think it can be great again. People will shake it off. But I don't think Travis meant to screw them over, he just has his own life to sort out.

There was probably sobriety issues concerning Travis, and if that's the case then I fully understand the band letting him go after all they've been through with Shannon.

I was just listening to Ugly Kid Joe who are now defunct so I went to you tube to listen to more and their frontman Whitfield Crane I think could be a fit, he's got the charisma thing and quite the voice and had some success in the early 90's. The guys would know more about him personality wise.

I'm honestly a little worried that they won't be back, but either way, I even though I was too young to see them back in '92-'95, I caught around 4 or 5 of their shows this time around and it just been really awesome. All my friends who I dragged along with loved the shows too. So either way I'm glad everything happened and I hope it's able to happen again.
I'll quit smoking and sing for the band if I have to.
