Could this be the best movie of the year? I know I can't wait. What does everyone else think?

i was completely STOKED for this to come out, well before the tragedy. I thought it was gonna be one of the biggest movies of the year, now with Heath's death, it'll completely explode. Actually, for the longest time i didn't know he was the joker. He really transformed himself. I really, really , really ,really ,really cannot wait for this movie!!! I'm glad the newer ones have gone away from the cartoonish feel. Though Batman forever was great!. I hope Jim comes back again soon!

Okay, hype killed this... it wasnt awful, but bad direction and editing ruined a film that had potential to be joined with No Country and There Will be Blood... Ledger was brilliant, totally original but Bale's Batman voice is hilarious as he gets in growling duels with Oldman throughout the movie, entertaining but indecipeherable... the movie is way to long, reliving the third Lord of the Rings, and would have been better served being split into two movies... there are many useless and annoying cameos that do nothing to help the plot, but take up a bit more time, and to balance this Nolan has put in some trademark Shymalan twists and cheesy Saw ripoffs... also the main characters can disappear to up to 20 mins at a time due to irrelevant side stories... it is slightly better than the first Nolan one, but the first one was horseshit so i guess that doesnt give this one much credit... If you compare it to Batman (1989) it is nowhere near the same league... unlike almost all the reviewers of this movie, i went in with no bias due to the Ledger circumstances, and i enjoyed his great performance, but so little time on screen wasnt enough to make this even close to one of the top movies out this year...

wasnt enough to make this even close to one of the top movies out this year... Actually i have to retract this... in past years it wouldnt have been close, but this year it has been in competition with some of the worst films ever released in cinemas. i.e. The Happening, Love Guru, that Sandler hairdressing one...

Broke the new single day record of 66 million. Craziness.
I cannot wait to see it either. Theaters are sold out all around here. Gonna wait till the crowds die down.

Great movie. Surpasses the first one and the JOker was amazing. By far the best part of the movie. The only problem that I had with it was the length seemed to be a little too long this time around. The pacing in the first one seemed to make the time go by quicker. With that said the theater was sold out and my friends want to see it tonight so I guess I am going again. For $6 it is well worth another look!!!

we had to hit the late show, because we were at my wife's 10 year HS reunion. Luckily, it wasn't sold out. Now we were 10 mins late getting into the movie because the dude infront of us was arguing that his gift card had money on it.... arh. not sure we missed much of the story though.. it seemed to piece itself together nicely. I've heard time and time again that it was toooooooo long, but i dunno.... I wasn't watching my watch or anything. It seemed to keep my interest. Naomi fell asleep toward the end, only because it was a really long day for us... and at that time it was well after midnight. I thought it was at least as good as the first (LOVED the Scarecrow!!!). I think there could have been MORE of the Joker!! he was spot ON! I wondered if there were plans on having him return (he didn't die and in the movie the Joke says... "you won't kill me, and i can't kill you....you are just too much fun. I think it's the beginning of a long..." ). So only 2 things from me.... Joker could have had more time, and there was a long car chase/action sequence under a bridge that was REALLY hard to follow! I don't think it had to do w/ where we were sitting. We were in the back of the front 3rd, if that makes sense.... SO...... where was this Mr T. cameo? is that the dude that threw the remote out of the window on the ferry?
