I thank him for every email... and, he is a member of the Forum. I'm sure he pops in to read these threads. As for the Peanut Gallery, in my opinion, it's the people that are upset that the band may go on as Blind Melon.... and really badmouth the band, or Travis, for even thinking it. So, no worries.

Rogers just dropped me another line explaining that he isn't calling us the Peanut Gallery. Things didn't start off to great from him when he woke up to read some shat emails from "parts unknown"..
He is very happy that people are willing to give this entire situation a shot.

I just hope they ignore all of the haters and don't let negativity influence their decisions. I'm sure they expected backlash but I'm also sure it sucks to have to hear it. I know there are more people who are happy about it than who are upset. They are doing the right thing and I think the true fans of the band will stick with them no matter what they decide to call themselves. The fans who worship Shannon and only Shannon probably won't and that just means more room in the front row for the rest of us! #guitar_player# #rock# The important thing is that we show the guys total support and positivity and help spread the word that this is a good thing.
I've said in this forum before that music has changed a lot since Blind Melon initially came into the picture. People are extremely open minded nowadays when it comes to listening to new music. There are so many more powerful outlets where they can get exposure to new fans like playing festivals and using the international power of the internet. Blind Melon was ahead of their time musically and now the time is right. That's all there is to it. I don't give a F#censor#K what they call themselves, as long as they are still making music together things are right in the world.
This is for the haters #spank# #whip#

I told Rogers that if they were named "Riggity Rizzorgers and the Rabbit Ranglers" I'd still buy the album.

Things didn't start off to great from him when he woke up to read some shat emails from "parts unknown".. He is very happy that people are willing to give this entire situation a shot. so he's getting hate mail for the band reforming already? if you read the fan reviews for unified theory on amazon some people really trash the band claiming that the band was trying to reform with a singer that sounded like shannon. even though chris shinn doesn't sound like shannon and only brad and chris were in it.....the point being alot of people are going to dislike the new band as sonya said, but oh well.

I agree, I just can't get over the fact that these four musicians will be making music together again. I loved Unified Theory and Extra Virgin. My wife and I listen to both records all the time. The thing that just makes it real for me is Glen G be involved. Even Though i'm not a drummer I always admired his style, there's just something about it. As awesome as Shannon's voice was, the music behind him was so unique. It just wasn't "standard". It didn't follow simple beats, and patterns. It was all over the place yet tight at the same time. Alright now that i'm not making sense i'll stop. This is just too cool. I can't wait.

I was always apprehensive on the subject of Blind Melon reforming with a new singer. I always thought it could never be right and that no one could ever fit except for Shannon Hoon. But now after listening to Travis on his myspace, the Rain Fur Rent myspace and some other links I think he is perfect. They couldn't have found anyone that could have fit like that, he is not Shannon, he doesn't sound like Shannon and I know he is not a replacement, Travis is the next chapter. Blind Melon is the best band in the world, I firmly believe that 100%, you just don't get many bands with that talent, let alone that perfect Vibe....everyone just flows together perfectly.....I could listen for a month on end and still hear something new. I love Shannon and I will NEVER forget him, and I think he would approve of this.

These guys seem way too solid, mature and know who they are to let anything bother them when it comes to this. I almost get the feeling that they just couldn't resist it, and have ALL finally come to a point where THEY feel really good about moving forward with this. They probably have all toyed with the thought over the years, and because Shannon was such a part of Blind Melon, they chose not to do this in the past. It is like they are really just allowing themselves to go for it, and that is amazing! liberating maybe? to do this guilt-free, where they feel peace in going for it As for the haters... any publicity is good publicity.... right? Rock On! oh, Sonya: I love your sig! sa-weet!
