I would hate to see or feel any negativity about this wonderful gift of the guys and Travis being together...either as Blind Melon or any other name they choose. I love Shannon too and would have loved for him to have been able to remain with the guys. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible on this planet. I wish that those who are doubtful or angry over the name issue would remember that Shannon was not the only member of Blind Melon. I am thankful for the time and energy that all members put into their music. I'm just thankful that I am able to listen and appreciate their hard work.
Keep Melon alive---in new or old form.

After reading thru this thread. It seems that most folks are in agreement that it doesn't matter what name they go by, or which songs they choose to play. It's just great that they were able to get back together after all these years and hopefully add to the music that we all love so much. Rock on brutha's! "Turn it up! Bring the noise!"

As for the haters... any publicity is good publicity.... right? Rock On! This is very true, but I still think they still deserve to have some sense slapped/whipped/beaten into them... It gets under my skin that people would send them hate mail concering the reunion...like they haven't had to deal with b.s. in the past decade. Thanks! They're my pictures but Ryan actually put them together that way. He rocks! #rock# Hopefully it won't be long til we all have new pictures like these to put in our sigs!

Hey ya'll - newbie here. I've seen Travis perform live for years with all his past bands and he will honor Shannon and the boys I have no doubt! He is an amazing musician and has loved BM since he was a youngster! Have you guys checked out his other bands....00Metro, Rain Fur Rent, and Killwatt? He is simply the most amazing singer/songwriter of this time in my humble opinion. Love seeing you all (or most of you!) so excited about the future of BM - no matter what the name! You will see the magic with Travis and feel the happiness from the rest of BM when they perform again!

Welcome Soupmomma, I have heard some tunes from Travis on his myspace. He is GREAT!! I'm sure the guys all felt the bond. It's nice to know he has been a BM fan for a long time. He probably doesn't feel like any of this is real. (kinda like all of us melons) It still is too much for me to handle. He did email me on my space and seemed really nice and appreciative of my words welcoming him to the world of melons. I had ta send him sum melon luv. #heart# Hope you'll stick around.~Melonfreak

Welcome Soupmomma! I've been listening to the tunes on Travis's myspace page and Rainfurrent, they are awesome! He seems like a perfect fit for the BM fella's. Where can I hear 00Metro & Killwatt? I'd love to give those a listen as well. My wife and I are still in disbelief that this is happening after all these years!!

I don't think Killwatt has a website...for 00Metro (double OH) go to 00-metro.com/ (that would be zero, zero). Yes, MelonFreak, Travis is a really nice person and he does appreciate all the kind words. And, yes, he can't believe this either! Believe me when I say that BM is his all time favorite band, so you can imagine how excited he is! Thanks to you both for the warm welcome - great board/thread!

I can't imagine what it would be like to have a favorite band, and then to be "in" that band. It must, truly be, a dream come true. But in that same tone, it's a dream for all of us that have had Blind melon as our favorite band for over a decade, to see them getting back together with another great singer and making music again. i just can't wait to see the lights go down, as the amps start to hum, and the crowd surges forward, just before the music starts. It's gonna be electric!!!!

I've mentioned this like five times already and Jethro said he would post some but i don't know if he's forgotten. The song "compared to what," i love it, and zipcodes and 'as much as i want to' pretty much everything is great...It's on indie911 but i can't dl it. I'm worried it won't be there one day and then i can't listen to it anymore ......again, welcome i see there's tons to dl that site, thanks #rock#

Haha... welcome Soupmomma, hope you enjoy the forum...
You know, John Frusciante joined his favourite band the Chili Peppers in '89 and brought further success to the band, maybe that's what Travis will do for Blind Melon... He is a great talent!

As I was catching up on this thread this morning, I was just about to post exactly what linwoodlarsons and foreverlights did.... Chili Pepers came to mind, as well as how excited Travis must be to have LOVED this band and actually work with them.
I was watching a "behind the music" or something YEARS ago on them (chili peppers), and John explained how thrilled he was when he got the news that he was "IN" and with a burst of energy he literally walked up one of the walls, and the ceiling in the room he was in, and flipped in the air! I wonder what Travis did when he got the "official" news!
It is so cool to have you at this forum soupmoma, and great to hear from someone who has seen Travis. I think there is a great feeling over all about this, and your input just makes it even more exciting!
