'suggest' has also another meaning in French, sorry Forgive my ignorance, but just out of curiosity what exactly is the other French meaning of 'suggest'? Charles or Barbara, maybe you can help... in this context, it could have been 'indicate' i shud have used this verb instead of 'suggest'

yeah i'm not too concerned with the name, i'd like if if they kept blind melon though. but what i'm thinking about now is how some of the songs would sound from a different singer. like 'change,' that's just kind of Shannnon's song. and what about walk? st. andrew's fall? i don't think it would sound right coming from someone else. but stuff like soak the sin, time, skinned, i think someone else could pull that off. hell now that i think about it, Soup, there's no way someone would sing that song like Shannon. not that the new singer couldn't sing it, or anyone else, but the feeling....Shannon's voice gives that song the feeling to it. Verb & Matt I'm in total agreement there! BTW, INX will be here in November, the tickets are $60 , I'm not going as I was never a fan of their's anyway and I believe that musicians should come together in a natural way not as a fabricated thing.

Here ya go fellas.. A quote message from Rogers. This was sent to me after I asked him whether or not they were going to use the name "Blind Melon".
"hi matt tough question..... Whatever we do, it'll be for the right reasons...what feels proper, not for what we're hearing from the peanut gallery. I for one was very skeptical about all this going out to LA last month, but I'll say this... 30 seconds into the first song I knew it was ON. I'd imagine Travis was a bit apprehensive himself...he has a deep respect for Shannon and the music, so it must've been weird for him. But somehow he made it cool, thereby earning my respect as well as everyone else's. I could not imagine how it could work, but it did, and now here we are. It's not about money or glory or any other trivial byproduct of rock-n-roll success. We coulda cashed in a long time ago but none of us are into doing a nostalgia trip. Either we make something new, while at the same time showing respect to what came before, or we go on and do other things with our lives (all of us were knee deep into other stuff before this came along). And that's no longer an option because we live for this and we want to play together. I'm sure that we'll have supporters and that at the same time there will be people who will never accept the band without Shannon...not much can be done about that. I assure you, however, that nobody aside from his blood family misses him more than we do..........
I'll leave you with a famous quote to ponder: "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time." -- Abraham Lincoln"

Considering a possible tour. A gig in scandinavia, the odds aren`t on my side..A concert in New York a year from now or anywhere on the east coast for that matter would be perfect for me. Hhmmm...One can only hope.

Sounds like Stevens gave this alot of thought before he gave it a try .Must have been hard to make that decision and i`m really glad he did it.Im sure most of Melonheads will show interest in this and not bash them because they keep going now without Shannon. "It's not about money or glory or any other trivial byproduct of rock-n-roll success" - He didn´t have to say that.Anybody who knows Blind Melon even a little is well aware that those things are absolutely not a priority.

It wasn't done hastily or without respect. You can never please all of your fans, and you can tell they care that fans still want to hear some new music, but they are doing it because it feels right to them. Only they can know if now is the right time to bring back the band, and they are telling us that it feels like the right time! That's good enough for me. The name matters very little to me. I can't wait to hear the music.

Matt, Seeing as your on "the in" with Rogers, send him a thank you for letting us all know what's going on. They could've just as easily kept it to themselves. That was very nice of him. Also "peanut gallery" I don't wanna be a peanut gallery. I think most of us don't really care what name they use. It's just amazing enough that after all these years that they're back together. Until then.... looking forward to new music. thanks
