Last night I was driving and listening to the new songs. When Make A Difference came on I started to think how great it will be when it's played live. I tried to envision being in the audience and being able to feel those drums vibrating through me and in the break when Travis is singing "It's beautiful in the world" it starts to buid back up to the rockin solo....I think it's gonna be INTENSE! I actually had goosebumps covering my body by the time the song was finished. The excitement of the reality that I'm going to see them live again hit me like a ton of fucking bricks. I LOVE BLIND MELON!!!!!

Ahhh I cant pick one either. I agree with Charles, I was very excited to hear the songs at first but thought, yeah they're good. Now it really grew on me - as I knew it would. The first one was Harmful Belly, which is the one I voted for... But now I wish I could change my vote to For My Friends, it makes me think of all the good times Ive had with my own friends and doesnt it remind you guys of Sleepyhouse a little? I think I must be crazy b/c they sound nothing alike, but I always think of it! Anyhoon, as for Make a Difference, I just realized I love this song too, especially after Sonya posted the lyrics. Know what made me love Blind Melon from the begining? When I was 14 back in Brazil, didn't speak a word of English I discovered them when the Brazilian MTV played the video of Tones of Home as a tribute to Shannon (it was Oct21). Then I went to 'Napster' and downloaded Walk and All That I Need... Even though I didn't speak English well, I understood most of what those songs were about and being a fan of Nirvana, RATM and most other 90's bands, I was completely shocked by the positivity in their lyrics! There was no "I Hate Myself and I Want to Die" but there was "My love for friends and family, you know I need them" or "all that I need is the air that I breathe". It made me feel good and brought out all the positive feelings I had inside of me. I know you're all probably thinking this should go in another thread, but I just wanted to say I got that feeling all over again today when I read the lyrics to Make a Difference and gave it another chance. Thanks for still making the music that makes me feel fine, Blind Melon!

I know, I know-- I'm still floating around in the clouds somewhere every time I listen!!! I think the initial shock of actually hearing NEW BLIND MELON SONGS is starting to calm down a bit, and it's being replaced by the full, steady love that I know for ALL of the band's work. When has there ever been such a groovin band?
By the way, I agree with Gabbee-- For My Friends does indeed give me a touch of the Sleepyhouse feeling. It's beautiful.

Heard the songs for the first time yesterday.Make A Difference is the one i listen to the most but it`s too early for me to give my thoughts to you about all three songs.First thing i noticed in Make A Difference was the drums.Glen is really doing awesome work behind his kit on that track.

I've said right from the beginning that once I found out that Glen was back in the fold, it all seemed complete. That man doesn't, nearly, get the credit he deserves, for what he does with those little sticks.

Oh Yeah!Glen is Back in Full Effect.& to see them playing together again in the Harmful Belly Video just blows me Away. These are powerfully talented musicians having a good time,We're reeping some good Rewards from that.Thank the gods for Travis,That acoustic begining for The Video is Great. When He's carrying his Guitar at the end,I think walking out of the Studio,He's singing ...Laughing on the Inside...Isn't he?It's good to know Shannon is one of his influences.

Did anyone else notice that the lyrics Travis sings while he's playing acoustically in the beginning of the video are slightly different than the ones on the final product? I just caught that last night.

Another thing...has anyone noticed how quiclky Travis tunes his guitar? Maybe I suck pretty much on guitar and it's normal for musicians to tune it so quickly, but still, I need like 5 minutes only to tune it right LOL and Travis says that the song (Harmfull Belly) is in another tune and then he tunes his guitar in like 5 seconds, lol.
