My bud wears gloves all year long, I dont wear em'...at all
do your hands get ass stiff as mine? How about the holes in your fingers...do you get the holes from the lime?
Makes strummin' my Ovation painful as hell....
Peace, Brick

Where and when did you first start flying? Growing up I never once thought about flying. It does makes sense, I guess.....because I'd climb everything...trees, houses, door jams as a kid....anything... How I got into flying..... I was in grade 12 wondering what the heck I was going to do. So I went to the guidance counselor who stuck me on a computer program that has you answer a bunch of questions to best match you to a list of professions. Sure enough Pilot was there, and I just kinda went "Hmmpht". The guidance counselor, who was also my grade 10 math teacher, told me her father had a lil landing strip and had built a couple planes (he was the mech. teacher). She told me that'd he'd love to take me up. My buddy Alex was friends of their family, so he tagged along. I was up in the air for about 30 mins, and got to "fly" around a bit as well as line it up for a landing that was it!! That was all it took, I was hooked! I applied to a place that was about 5 hrs away, and one that was one hour away from my home town. I heard back from the furthest away one first. Like in January, right!. I really wanted the other place, so I waited. I'm glad I did. May rolled around, and I got excepted to MFC. Come to find out, had I accepted the first place, I woulda lost a TON of cash....they went tits up. here's the website where I was trained... www.mfc.nb.ca

With the stone work I take my gloves on and off alot, depending on the application. To best describe the restoration, I'd have to say look at some of Boston's brick buildings. Up here heritage requires us to use Lime Based mortar; my hands won't last a week if I do not wear gloves. I've found these...the seem to work pretty good www.mclendons.com/item.asp?sku=61023540Lime is terrible terrible stuff!! I do not like it at all!! I have to put cream on constantly in the evenings if we're on a restoration job. I've had my hands split open a couple times from being too dry, not good! My hands don't cramp up too much anymore from playing guitar. Only if i'm trying some crazy jazz chords for any extended period of time. I too own an ovation #smiliechristopher# oh, here's a link to some work I did this past summer (if you're at all interested ) we had just finished, so the place was in desperate need of some greenery thanks for your questions.

What's your favorite childhood memory? It's hard to choose a favorite anything, so I'll give ya a few ones that come to mind first: Getting MY first dog (we had a pug when a was little, but that was my sisters), for christmas in grade two. He was a poodle, name Brandy. My parents are dead set against alcohol, so we called him Bandy true story ;D ....it was always a big deal to me when my mom's mom would visit (they lived far away), 'cause she'd bake everyone thier own special Huge gingerbread man, even the pug. The smell would just fill the whole house. Her last name was Cook; and she COULD! She had 9 kids and had to make a couple loaves of bread a day! I wish I had the picture w/ me, but I once got to pilot a Riverboat when I was only 9. Mom's got a few picks of me at the helm. The captain signed a certificate w/ my name on it stating I was Captain of (name of ship) for that day, even though it mighta been 20 mins . Big Deal for lil boy. it was much like this one

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

I just caught up on the thread and enjoyed reading it ;D My best buddy Josh and I were in creative writing class together, w/ a teacher who loved to hear himself talk. Aside from his thick coffee/cigar breath, we thought he was the shite. Because he believed that drawing while listening to him lecture would help us be creative & he was right, drawing on hash was kinda cool. Anyway, we were in creative writing class trying to come up w/ a name, & getting very frustrated . As a joke, one of us said "ok, just flip open that book with your eyes closed and point at a word"....first word 'Ticket' ha, we just smirked at eachother. "try it again" next one... 'Trip'....we just kinda went whoa .....we weren't really entertaining the idea of getting a name that way. Being in a writing class we had to think what it'd mean. It didn't seem to work, we flipped the words around. Kinda sounded right..... we brainstormed for awhile, and thought it was alright. I read once that that's how Grateful Dead got their name. They opened the dictionary and the first word was "grateful" and the second time they opened it the word was "dead". Anyone heard about this too or do you think it's just a made up story? Greg? if you could change anything about your life past or present...would you and what would you change? That's a tough one. I believe things happen for a reason. The bad w/ the good, even if it leaves you scratch'n your head. One thing I've dwelled on is maybe waiting a year or two to get married. But then I wouldn't have these 3 great kids. They simply wouldn't exist if I went that way. It's just crazy to think back about things, and realize one decision could completely alter sooooo much. I agree, it reminds me of Dancing Nancies of Dave Matthews Band...I love this song. This is a version with Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds, not my favorite version of the song (although still good!) but the only one that I have on my computer right now. www.mediafire.com/?1ygzhzkcupxDon't you ever wonder, Maybe if things had been slightly different You could be somebody else Don't you wonder, maybe... If you took a left turn instead of taking a right, You could be somebody different...tonight Don't you ever wonder... Could I have been... Don't you ever wonder, Well, God, could I have been... Don't you ever wonder, anyone, anyone Could I have been A parking lot attendant Could I have been A millionaire in Bel Air Could I have been Lost somewhere in Paris Could I have been Your little sister Could I have been Anyone other than me Could I have been Anyone He stands touch his hair, his shoes untied Tongue gaping stare Could I have been a magnet for money Could I have been anyone other than me? Twenty three and so tired of life Such a shame to throw it all away The images grow darker still Could I have been anyone other than me? And then I... Look up at the sky My mouth is open wide, lick and taste What's the use in worrying, what's the use in hurrying Turn, turn we almost become dizzy I am who I am who I am, well, who am I Requesting some enlightenment Could I have been anyone other than me Sing and dance I'll play for you tonight The thrill of it all Dark clouds may hang on me sometimes But I'll work it out... And then I... Look up at the sky My mouth is open wide, lick and taste What's the use in worrying, what's the use in hurrying Turn, turn we almost become dizzy Falling out of a world of lies Could I have been a dancing nancie? A dancing nancie Could I have been anyone other than me? And then I'll... Sing and dance... la la la la hey Sing and dance, I'll play for you tonight, The thrill of it all Dark clouds may hang over me sometimes, But I'll work it out And then I'll... Look up at the sky My mouth is open wide, lick and taste What's the use in worrying, what's the use in hurrying Turn, turn we almost become dizzy

Congratulations Trip! !! What is the hardest thing you have ever dealt with and how has it made you a better person? thanks. I've had Plenty a brush with death over the years. Some from recklessness, most not though. The most recent(not to mention almost hitting a deer every couple months) was a house fire about four years ago. We were coming home from doing errands, and for what ever reason (not realizing it at the time) I got out of the car, but locked the family in it. Something felt off. I got to the front door of the house, had just unlocked the door w/ my hand on the handle about to open it when I could hear LOUD whistling. I looked through the window where I could normally see through the window at the back of the house, but couldn't..... I peaked in the basement window to see Flames! I couldn't see through the house because of the smoke! I was seconds from being blown of the front stairs, had I opened the door. It was a rough time for us, losing some things we cherished. Having to live in a tiny apartment for 4 months. And dealing with contractors and insurance agents. It was a growing experience for sure. We were all ok though! But like I said, I've had a brush w/ death many times. So from this one I realized I must be here for something. Not sure why I need to be reminded so much, and wish I knew what for 'cause I'd go 300mph directly to it!! I don't think so. I do get the vigil. I think it's great! I'd love to visit Shannon's site sometime, just not in that settting. I'd also love to meet soooo many melons in that kinda of spirit, singing & jamming, just not there. When I think of many things about Shannon, I feel alive and excited. When I think of him not being here, I feel heavy still. It's just a personal choice. On my itunes ....Donavon Frankenreiter's "move by yourself" album and in my car a mix cd mixing from Black Crowes, Ben Harper, Gary Hoey (gone fishing GET THIS ONE!! ), Albert Colins ( Ice Pick), and Beck, Wilco, Greatful Dawg......can't remember the rest

Kevin, if you were given the power, what is the one law that you would change and why?
Nicest thing you've done to/for someone?
Meanest thing you've done to someone?
