I just think it's amazing that I can listen to or watch him after all these years and still be affected by his words. I can always listen to him when I am depressed and really listen to what he is saying. Somehow it always helps. I feel the same way; he had that gift and still has it because a lot of us still take comfort in his lyrics. He's also brought all of us together and that is really a great gift. I realized how great that gift was when Jon died and everyone pulled together.

I cant count the many times blind melon and hoon's words have helped me. I was introduced to blind melon by a close friend, and since then its like theres someone there who wants to share the feelings and times i go through. There are so many times when I listen to blind melon and i hear something new - i go through an experience which shannon hoon is singing about, its really comforting.
I remember once my parents were fighting, brothers and sisters screaming, i had to shut it all out so i put on soup loud. i lay on my bed and shut my eyes tight and sang "Ill close my eyes really really tight, and make you all go away" with the song. I fell asleep soon and woke up with it all gone away, everything quiet no more fighting.
Thats just one of the times, but being allowing me to relate to hoon's words is what he has done for me.
RIP,

Shannon's words are always in my everyday life. Even when I cook soup of beans. When I wearing one star sneakers. When I am taking sabway...everywhere When I got Blind Melon album,I was in small town in Japan. No information of Blind Melon, No MTV,No Internet( more than 10 years ago ;D) All I could is just listening to CD carefully. And try to understand what he is saying... I really think that I am lucky to find Shannon when I was 19 years old which was important age to think about real me and learn about my life.I think it is very simple massage but I really appreciate to know Shannon's lyrics at that time especially " When life is hard you have to change" Thank you Shannon

Yeah I had no info on the band at all for a few yrs. Yet those 3 cds had a way of becoming like a close friend. I feel the same way you do like how on numerous occasions Just the right lyric, mood of the song or how Shannon is using his voice will help me solve a problem or changes my perpcective to help me get over something.I listen to alot of other Music but nothing means more to me when it comes to musc than all my Melon cds, dvds & traded live shows. Shannon gave us all he had when he was performing or recording so I really do try to get alot of Peace, Happiness & Laughter in my life.

In the beginning, back in 96, I was very attracted to the manic pace of some of the songs. I enjoyed the personal feeling you get from some other songs & parts of other songs also. Now I have some great live shows too and definately enjoy those in a big way.
