Although I think shannon hoon is a amazing and beautiful being I think it is wrong to deny the other members in the band contribution to the music , n e ways here is a story about the music/shannon hoon helping me. Recently I had heart surgery and I'm fuckin scared to DEATH of needles (to quote abbie hoffan "The only dope worth shooting is richard nixon" though I think we should modernize it by swaping nixon with bush #lol# ) so to say that I was petrified of them putting something in my heart is the understatment of the year. So when I first got to the hospital my then girlfriend brought my melon collection in to cheer me up and right before going into surgery one of the nurses told me they had a cd player in the operating room and I could play a cd during the procedure. During the procedure I hear the doctors start to talk about a problem and even in my morphine induced state I understood that I had fluid in the sac that holds the heart which I guess is really bad So I'm starting to freak out and right then I happen to tune into the song playing (all that I need) right as shannon is singing "Everything will be okay",so basically blind melon got me to to gain control of my fear during the scariest moment of my life, and for that I am eternally grateful ;D

Shannon singing "Everything will be ok" right at that moment..It`s crazy but wonderful that it happens sometimes when you need to hear it the most.I`m glad it went ok!.

bogo, that is an amazing story! Life is surreal, and so real at the same time. Shannon voiced the perfect phrase for you at the right time! That is indeed a very special thing. I hope you are recovering well.

The song "change" by him has helped me get through my life alot. It has always been there when i needed it, and it has always been the song i turned o when giving advice. My favorite line in that song os "Keep on dreaming boy, cus when you stop dreaming its time to die"
Shannon also helped me get intouch with my self. I feel very comfortable now.
But my most favorite song by him is No Rain.

Just listening to the songs helps me daily. Whether it's a song to sing happily on the way to work or a song to cry to when I'm sad, Blind Melon is there. It's a great feeling to know that there are words and songs to describe how you are feeling when you can't and even more comforting to know that someone can empathize. Thanks guys for the wonderful music!

I don't have a lot of friends, I'm a lil bit contained. No one understand me. I wonder why, but only Blind Melon music make me happy. I don't need a lot of friends, for me enough Blind Melon music. This is only one thing which hold me on this world... Only one thing which enjoyed me... Shannon give me a sense of life... I think I never find a person who understand me and person who loves me truly, so i have Blind Melon and GNR music

I've never had alot of friends. I've got my wife, my kids, and my best friend Mark. We met in the seventh grade, 24 years ago. Sometimes I still can't believe it's been that long. In the seventh grade we went to Cedar Point on a class trip together. Since then we've through ssoooo much. Elloko, hang in there.

elloko..It`s amazing what Blind Melon can do for a Melonhead.Even if everything around you is messed up and there`s no light at the end of the tunnel.Shannon lights a candle for you so you can make it through.
Blind Melon is magical, simple as that.

I think that he made that even death, i can listen him, and i don´t know well how to explain but it makes me want to listen his lyrics alone..where is not necessary to be with someone to enjoy them, like could hapen with another group or singer...and most of all cause i know that i never will see him alive and without this illusion that maybe i fell with another, like Robbie Williams, that last week he played here in argentina by first time and i was hoping those days very anxious and finally i could see him...with shannon this will never hapen but not because of that i will stop listen his music... maybe you didn`t understand me, but this is what i feel.. and from the moment i started listened BLind Melon and saw Shannon in pics or videos i felt like blessed for like them...
kisses Laura

I know this is kinda an old thread so I’m sorry for digging it up again, but I just read thorough it and felt like I should comment!
I first heard blind melon when I was younger, I was going through a really shitty time and I just wanted to get away from my life and go somewhere new where nobody would know me, there was more to it but I won’t bore you with the details! If you just listen to the lyrics of tones of home that should pretty much sum up how I was feeling at the time! Anyway one day I was talking about it to a friend and this guy who I never even met before heard me talking and came over and told me I should listen to blind melon and I have pretty much loved them ever since ! Words can’t describe how much better I felt when I heard them, like when my friends just didn’t get it, I always had a blind melon album near by to reassure me that there is people like me out there somewhere!
Oh and that story “zozoe” told on the first page about I wonder brought a tear to my eye and I’m not even the crying type!!
