What you absolutely need to do is make sure you guys have a camcorder recording at all times thru the duration of the road trip....from beginning to end....then send all the tapes to Leigh for editing (since he won the video contest and all ) And by the end you should have an awesome documentary that can be shared with everyone that wishes they could go but can't

This is an awesome idea!!! But I don't have a camcorder I don't know if anyone who will go has it. I'm definitely taking my camera though. I hope we can make this, it would be great!

It's still not fair to say it was the band if it was the bus driver who did it You're right...it's not the band's fault. I just knew it would get your attention. Can you imagine being one of the people on that boat?

I probably wouldn't listen to DMB for a looooooooooong time after that Not because I'd be mad at them (finaly it was driver's fault, right? haha, I just don't wanna put the guilt on the boys ) but because every time I'd hear their music it would make me think of their #smiliepoo# spread all over the boat and people including me #paranoid_02# #lmao# I'm eating a yogourt right now and I think it just wasn't meant to be for me to enjoy it...first I got a really disgusting joke from Carrie (pixiedust) in my email (I'll post it in jokes thread) and now this...imagining getting cover by a big pile of #smiliepoo# of DMB members #lmao#

This thread has turned crazy. I am still laughing from all of Sonya's posts. I learned that if you use a plastic grocery bag and stick it inside the RV toilet and put the seat down (so it doesn't slip) You #smiliepoo# in the bag, take care of business, tie it closed and toss it in an airtight bin until you get a stop somewhere to dump all the bags. It helps with smell and you don't have to stop all the time to use the bathroom. I've never actually done this, so I don't know how well this works.. but it sounded like a good idea. This all sounds like something I would like to participate in, but I guess I'm just thinking negatively. I don't know if I will have money to do all of this. But hopefully in the next few months I will have a better outlook or something.

I guess this thread turned into discussing about how to #smiliepoo# while being on a motorhome trip. Thanks for all the info, we can't deny it's something important to know Shana, I'm not 100% sure if I'll have enough money either but I keep on being optismistic, it's the essential thing to make it! So think positive and everything will turn out great

Hey Music lovers!
Okay, maybe I wasn't clear enough on what I found out on the web. But well, it goes like this ( although I have checked it, did not book anything, maybe there are still additional costs). But this dutch site you were able to book a flight and rent a camper/motor home as well.
Flight was a bit over 400 euro, flying from Amsterdam to Chicgo, for a 2 week trip 15 sept till 30 sept. Then for a motorhome ( 5 pers) renting on same dates as the flight, pickup in Chicago and deliver in NYC, including a generator would cost you 2475 eur.
So that is less then 500 eur for the motorhome and with the flight you get close to 1000 eur. Then you still need to add the melontickets, gas, and spending money, smokes, beers, w$$d and other stuff like toiletpaper heheh ( looking at the posts before)....
So the dates are fine, the prices are fine and i love the enthousiasm from all the Melons inviting us to sleep at there driveway. Excellent, I would do the same, it feels like a family to me!
We still rely on the tourdates the guys announce. Untill then we can't do anything.... and that sucks. But well... just wait and seee. But actually I would also like to see the West coast... Of course if we want to be at the vigil it turns out to fly to Chicago, but i have never seen anything in the West!~
But to see Vernie, Nell, and all the others I have seen in 2004 would be priceless tooo...!\ Hell yeah, Blind melon and USA here we come!
I hope I cleared out how much I think it would cost the plain things to get around and to get to US. Barb, I found a low budget airline flying for 5 eur. from Brussels to Ljubliana! When we fly to US you definately need to fly from Amsterdam anyway!
Hey Vincent, little petit French Melon Hip Fannnnn, what about you joining us mannnnn! You need to join as well! And Sarah, how are your parent doing so far...?? Convinced them yet? ;-)
Peace brothers&sisters!

Count me in! After reading through all the posts here i can`t think of anything else than to join you guys.. This is so fucking happening!! #banana#
I have to tell you that i don`t even have a regular drivers license and if that`s all that you need to drive a motorhome i won`t be able to drive anyway. I don`t know who has a license but it ain`t fair that for exampel Paul has to drive alot i don`t at all..Anyone been thinking about this? Just want to clear things out.
This is still so early but from what we`ve been talking about so far, to me a flight to Chicago and from there head to NY(first stop at the Vigil of course) sounds great. Are we talking about like 2 weeks or 4 weeks here?
Anyway..If there ain`t any problems with me not being able to drive.,i am definitely IN!.

Paul.. About West Coast..Do we have enough time?I mean vigil and stopping by fellow Melons from here will take quite some time and drive from Chicago to Cali and from Cali to NY all in a few weeks...I have no idea how long it takes but US is pretty damn huge!!...I`m so exited about this that i don`t care.. Ahh, fuck it! Let`s go to Mexico too!

I was looking at flight prices from Stockholm to The States.. I`m speachless....... From Stockholm to New York back and forth it costs 573$ and one way ticket from Stockholm to Chicago cost 1681$...How the hell can there be such a HUGE difference..Ok i know that Chicago if further away but still...Unbelievable!

Joel, you might want to check other international airports on the east coast to compare prices. I know that BWI airport and Dulles airport both schedule international flights. When I flew to France I flew out of Dulles (it's near Washington D.C.)

When I flew to France I flew out of Dulles (it's near Washington D.C.) I will do that..Then i have to check out too how much it costs to get from for exampel Dulles to Indiana or where ever we are meeting..Where is BWI btw ? Right now it seems best to buy a back and forth ticket to Newark since it`s pretty cheap and most likely i will fly back home from NY.

Hey Joel, Awesome mannnn you're in! Don't worry about the driving, I love driving and everything cool! I have a regular driving license and also for towing bigger trailers.. No trucks though heheh Okay, to tell you more about the flight tickets... when i went to the vigil in 2004 I flew in on Chicago and back to Holland from Atlanta. Actually that combined flight ticket was cheaper then a both way Chicago. So maybe go and talk to a travel acengy whenever we have dates announced. As i said before, till that time we can't do anything. Because what happens if Melon isn't playing anywhere during September.. Or what happens when Melon plays west coast in September... Jeezzzz well I hope they take our plan into consideration while they arrange their tour itenary.... Anyway, Joel cool you're in! We keep in touch! Paul
