Some of the audience was laughing the whole time. That was disgusting.

I think it's absolutely pathetic that they are trying to use this to extort money from the guy. All they are doing is making a mockery of the situation by trying to use it for personal gain. What he said was beyond disgraceful, but a crime?...No. If a regular guy walking down the street said those things, you certainly couldn't sue them for it. They aren't entitled to anything, accept an apology if Michael wants to give them one. I liked when they said they felt "threatened"...give me a break. Is money gonna change what he said?...No. If they really think they can get something for this, (which they can't), they should be asking for him to donate to a charity or something...instead of their pockets. No judge in their right minds would order him to pay them anything...Disgusting.

I had on some radio station that the guys who were verbally attacked were at his show the night before and were trying to provoke him. I don't know if it's true but if it is there just out for the money. Not that it makes his comments justified. The whole thing is crazy.

I can't beleive he has the nerve to go back and claim he's not racist! I know.. If Richard wants to have any chance getting jobs in acting again that is the only thing he could say.Even though most people won`t believe him,i understand why he said that he ain`t no racist.

The reason that the Letterman crowd was laughing, is because it's taped early and Richard's rant hadn't made "big news" yet. So most of them didn't know what he was talking about. At least that's what I heard.

I think Richards rant happened on friday and on the following monday he was on Letterman..My guess is that the audience was well aware of what he had said.

When I first saw this, I remember wondering how it would effect 'Seinfeld'. I just heard on the radio today that Rev. Jesse was requesting that the latest dvd series be banned. It is the one with the most popular episodes, like "the soup nazi" and all of that. That dvd set was supposed to be pretty high on the amazon.com list too. It's too bad if what he did/said causes the others involved to be punished too. How much pull does this guy really have anyway? To ruin it for the rest of the crew? Man, I try so hard to pay attention to these mistakes other peeps make, because even if the punishment doesn't fit the crime (in this case potentially ruining others' carreers, or affecting their paycheck) there are just some things you can't un-do, or un-say. And some will go to great lengths to make your life hell afterwards.
