I'm going to see if I can sneak in a camera. If I am able to get good photos I'll post them here! Plus our digital camera can take short videos so we can try to get some footage. I hope we can get up close to the stage b/c last time we saw MMW at this venue, it was packed full of people. We got there late so we didn't have a very good spot.

Pics would be awesome! What about recording the show, do you have equipment for that? It would be great

No, we don't have the equipment for it, but I'm positive somebody will be there taping it. I wouldn't be surprised if the show is available for dl tomorrow...that's how it was last time we saw them.

Aw, that would be great! Maybe you could ask the taper to send you the recording? That's what people did when I was at a MMW show and my ex recorded it. There were a bunch of people asking him for it.

We just got home from the show. We had to leave early b/c we told the babysitter we'd be home at midnight. I hate leaving before the show is over. It was awesome! They wouldn't allow flash photography so we ended up taking a few videos with our camera. I'll post links when they're uploaded.

The show was great We arrived shortly after the doors opened, luckily before the venue filled up with people. Sonya and I grabbed one drink a piece at the bar and snagged our spot, center stage…. Right up against the rail. After a short period of time, out came the Oliver and Chris Wood, who set up and played at the front of the stage, less than 5 feet away from us. They put on an awesome set, knocking out about a dozen songs. I am so happy that I got to see these guys live and if the opportunity ever presented itself, I would love to see a show that is exclusively the 2 brothers playing all night. By the time MMW made it to the stage the venue had filled up with people and Sonya and I were very pleased that we had staked our spot early on. The opening song definitely set the mood for the rest of their performance. They jammed out for about 20 minutes on the first song alone and it was one that they could have jammed out on for the entire night and I would have been happy. It definitely sounded like they were showcasing a lot of new material as a lot of the songs were unfamiliar to me and I consider MMW as one of my favorite bands. The first set only consisted of 3 songs but we are talking quality, not quantity here. I was a little disappointed that they took a (what seemed like forever) 30+ minute set break. I say this because our babysitter was doing us a real big favor by watching the boys on a school night (she is only 16 yrs old) and we told her we would be home at midnight. This means that no matter what, we were going to have to leave @ 11:30 The 2nd set was equally as interesting & entertaining as they continued to play new material. They had Oliver Wood join them onstage and he proceeded to play a lot blues riffs and solos which added a real nice flavor to the jams. Just as we feared, 11:30 snuck up on us before the show had finished and we had to abandon our perfect spot against the stage. We pouted the whole way to the car. On the way home Sonya and I we both in agreement that going to a MMW show is witnessing musical history in the making. Being able to see these guys create the sounds they do right before your eyes is something special....we imagined it has to be the equivalent to someone witnessing Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane or Miles Davis on stage years ago. We feel that the music that MMW creates today will live on for generations, even after MMW is gone. They do not allow flash photography so everything we attempted to take did not come out, however, our digital camera does have a video feature so we were able to get a few video clips of both The Wood Brothers & MMW. The video clips are just small pieces of the pie as none of them feature any songs in their entirety. I haven't had a chance to watch them yet so I know nothing of quality; sound or video. But we should at least have enough to portray just how magical the evening was for us. We have set our hopes REALLY REALLY high that we will see a recorded, downloadable show surface soon (especially since we had to bail out a little early)

How cool! Thanks for that! I just got an idea what you should do next time - take your kids with you! ;D It sounds like a crazy idea but when I was a kid, even very small, my parents took me everywhere with them, to parties, concerts...at least that's what they told me, I wish I would remember some of it, I think they had some crazy time when they were young #monkey# You couldn't watch the show from the front row but by the mixing table is usualy great too. Then it depends how the place is, if the stage is high enough, if it's not totaly full etc.

Finally the link to The Wood Brothers performance in Raleigh on March 6th is up at bt.etree.org. There are already 12 people seeding so the download should go pretty fast. bt.etree.org/details.php?id=505190The taper says in the comments that the MMW portion of the show will be posted soon. We were getting really worried that the show wasn't going to circulate b/c every other show they've done between the 3rd and the 10th of March has been posted. I can't wait to dl the MMW so we can hear what we missed out on! ;D Then after I hear it I'll probably cry b/c of what we missed out on.
