with only a couple of days before i make a short weel long melon trip i find i have missed shannon and thought of him alot today, not sure why! i enjoyed the way he physically expressed his emotions and thoughts with his movements, the fact that he enjoyed not just plaing to the crowd but actually beeing a part of it! i only met and saw him one time in chapel hill in 91 i think, it was before they blew up and were still relatively unknown, but they blew me away that night in a smallish dive, i asked him for his autgraph and he said "brother i ain't nobody....yet, but comeback in a year and i'll bee worthy to enough to do autographs!" i never got to see them again while shannon was alive but when he was in a room famous or not you just knew you were in the presents of something special! i had the same feeling at the shows i saw in nov. and dec of 07' i think he was the noble looking at us, dancing among us! yeah i miss him too!

Just one of those days where I am really missing Shannon and felt like saying it out loud where people won't look at me like a freak. Ha! I feel like that too. If i said aloud that i miss Shannon i think everyone around me would just give up hope and book me into an institute. Haha jokes.... They would just think i'm a big soppy loser. Group hug?

That's the only way I can explain or comprehend it, and he could have just as easily been mowing his front lawn that day and the results might have been the same.

Same here, I miss him too. Looking back when I first heard Blind Melon and Shannon's beautiful voice, I think, those were the days.

Kinda feeling ya Matt Since I've been home, I've been wondering what my trip might have been like had I got to meet Shannon for 4 shows. I always wanted to ask the guys before/after the show some Shannon questions, but never knew how to bring him up I could ask about him all nite long

We all miss Shannon ...even those of us who were unlucky enough not to know of him when he was alive (I was only 5 when he died - how I wish I was older!). I know it's clichéd to say this, but he's touched all of our lives, and made us better people... I know I can only speak for myself, but I feel that's the consensus here anyway!

I get choked up reading about how I can relate to every single post made in this thread.
Tears fill my eyes I miss him so much.

Shannon and I are only about 4-5 months apart in age so he would've been 42 just like me this year, and again very sadly & ironically at the time of his death I had just started my road to sobriety and he was back & forth trying to do the same thing but tragically came up short.

I've been listening to alot of the old material lately.Peformances,Demos,Acoustic etc. Even though I can still relate to the songs, which makes me feel giddy,I still get a few waves of sadness come over me occasionaly.I feel that he is so close to me most of the time & I Love it.Sometimes though the full magnitude of what everyone has lost,Family,Friends & Fans, hits me kinda hard. By Far most of the time it's a celebration.

Same here, I find myself asking that same question. What would it have been like meeting Shannon at these shows, it makes me regret not taking the opportunity back then to see them. Wish I had that magic rewind botton... I also found myself thinking about how much material Shannon may have given us through his experiences of being a Dad??? Unfortunately that was not meant to be, I miss him too #hoonsmiley# Kinda feeling ya Matt Since I've been home, I've been wondering what my trip might have been like had I got to meet Shannon for 4 shows.
