I was thinking last night about Shannon and how he always had a way with crowd control and his presence on stage was just amazing. He was the perfect frontman and wasnt afraid to speak his mind.....from telling an overly rambunctious fan to adhere to the vibe of the song when it carried a mellow vibe.....to telling security off "that guy happens to be a friend of ours you F'n meathead"....."you dont have to throw that guy out, he really wasnt doing anything wrong" ...to addressing littering problems in the parking lot outside a venue......

He really had a way with the crowd. Although I never knew him personally, it seemed like he was a person that I could've known well. Even 15 years later, his words/lyrics/sound has such an impact on a lot of people. I feel like anytime I listen to songs, I find something new that maybe I missed before.

Today I was thinking how accidental Shannon's death was & how The Band really didn't see it coming.Cocaine can take your life anytime you do it.New Life is playing so I'm going to take some time to listen to it.

I was watching some early footage from some show earlier today and thought how amazing it was to watch Shannon have so much energy and rhythm and style. I always loved how much he gave to his audience. You can tell he was doing something that he truely loved and was meant to do. 15 years, how quickly time escapes us all.

you know one of the things i loved about the blind melon album was shannons talking.....really subtle. i was listening with earphones (that sounds weird...not the right word) anyways..........never really listened carefully with those until recently and yesterday after almost 18 yrs of listening to that album, i heard what he was saying at the beginning of sooak the sin "see everything that i see through my eyes.......sometimes seems strange" or something close to that.......that album and his voice is always like listening to it for the first time. his voice is just magic.

I always felt like I knew Shannon personally. Even though I never met him. Its a strange thing. And its hard to explain.

Yeah,I remember listening to the self titled for the first time with headphones & I was kinda amazed at what I had been missing,Shannons voice turned out to be in places I didn't expect too. Lately I've been listening to that cd & the head train cd alot.Great music, good times,no being bummed he isn't here, just enjoying it.
