I just plain miss him everyday. I never knew him, but I always felt like I did. It was like losing my best friend. I'm glad that Travis can do justice to the old songs as well as kick ass on the new stuff!!

I hope you all know how much I love and support the band I just really miss Shannon and I don't want him to fade away~ Youtube has a ton of stuff but I was trying to find a song for myspace and had trouble. I totally see how you feel Brandy. A week or two ago I had the same problem, I wanted to find an old melon song to put on my Myspace and needed ages to find it. It made me a bit sad. I would also like to see old songs on BM's Myspace player as well, not only the new. I think it would be right, considering they kept the name and I love to see that Shannon is still there (and hopefully will always be) when they list band members. Like Brandy, I love and support the new band, but I really miss Shannon and every time I hear the old melon I realize that no matter how awesome the new band is (which it sure is), nothing will ever come close to the original melon for me. Not by any principle or anything, it's just that VERY SPECIAL feel they give me, which new songs, as much as I might love them, don't.

Barb~ I know what you mean thats exactly how I feel~ I'm glad the guys are doing so well.Such great musicians! Travis has such a great sound I really hope they go all the way~ Although a small selfish part of me hopes they dont get too big so big that they forget about the old ripe melons the ones who have been around for the long haul. Shannon Hoon forever !! peace & love me

I've actually been listening to the original 3 cds more than usual this week.I've been listening to the new stuff so much everyday, that some days I don't get in more than a few oldies but goodies. That has changed this week & here you guys/gals are in the same mode.

There may be a better thread to post this, but it's the first I ran upon, so here it goes. Yesterday, was rainy, foggy, and dreary. We were driving back into town from picking my daughter up from my dad's house. No Rain came on the radio, and she loves it. She calls it her bee song. So she's starts dancing in her car seat. Then, she points out the window and says, "I'm dancing with those two clouds!", and I immediately pictured Shannon dancing in the clouds with her. It was a cute moment. Then when the song was over, she couldn't find her two clouds anymore, and it upset her. She wanted me to find them, so I just told her they went to dance with someone else listening to the bee song.

I know I posted this before but I love it how "Drive" always seems to be the song that just really connects with me. That line "There's so many things that he's gonna do. In 5 lifetimes, hell I couldn't do them all." That line just always hits me because as a dreamer, I feel that way all the time but the fact that Shannon's life ended so soon, it made me realize that while it's not a bad thing to be a dreamer and wish for future things, that it's all about living in the moment and making the most of the day, every day.

I was driving and blasting Wetlands out loud in my car today and I know I probably already said it a thousand times but Shannon was so fucking amazing. The feel he gives, his voice, lyrics...and stuff he said during shows...I love it! He was always saying simple but so true and important things and in his simple, direct, and yet still such a special way. Shannon for president!

He was always saying simple but so true and important things and in his simple, direct, and yet still such a special way. I absolutely agree and thats the main thing I love him for. I know it sounds super cheesy but Im a better person because of him. I remember when I made it to my first vigil there was a magazine floating around and in the article Shannon said something about people that complain about life a lot and it was all so simple but so true... I still think about that article every now and then when I catch myself complaining about stupid shit.
