hey, melons, it's been quite a bit since i posted.... i went back to school, so that's mostly why i haven't been around since the vigil. so busy! today was the last day though..whew! anyway...not much new goin on here. i cut 10 inches off my hair last night and donated it to locks of love. it's still pretty long, but it's the biggest haircut i've had in many years. i was hanging out with a girl from school and we were "doing what we do" in my car, and i had a melon show playing and she was loving it, and she said she loved no rain, but didn't know the band was so different from that, so never really got into them....so today i brought her copies of soup, vancouer, plus some other random rariities and she was so psyched. i love spreading the melon. i see that there are ppl on here who don't know what the black board was. well, it was where a lot of us melons first met. it was here: www.blindmelon.com/guestbook/guestbook.aspas you can see there was some sort of power struggle, and it had to be ended. by the way, the snowflakes are awesome. who did that? FER! the quick has been playing NY all month, and i've been too busy and broke to go to even one! rene is playing a solo show tonight, even.. gonna go finish up my xmas shopping. i'm just about done, which is good, since i work friday and sat night! peace, love, and happy holiday! Hey Barbara My german is pretty rusty and my vocabulary is very very limited. But shiza means shit. Stinky stinky....shit. haha . And I'm also a little curious about the other things too.....somebody should explain Thanks verbalpocketplay, I got the point about the shiza part (u normaly write it "sheize" but it's maybe some kind of english "turning"?)

i love spreading the melon. Yeah! I forgot to tell something to everyone; since I'm here all the people at school thinks I just got into some kind of crazy Blind Melon obssesion (they think like what the hell's the interest of talking with someone just because he loves the same band as you do?) Anyway, it doesn't really matters (nobody here really understand me...I'm fine and I'm fine... ), I talked and "adviced" Blind Melon so much that finaly a guy downloaded the albums (I know, this suck, but I was happy I made his interest grow at this point) and then one day he sent me a message saying they rock Next day he made them play in the photo studio at shool He said he couldn't get as obsessive as I am (although I'm not considering myself obsessive ;D) but I guess that was enough for me decorate the dying day

I do the same stuff Barbara. I just got into Blind Melon last December so it's been about a year now. But everyone who I talk to about music I always have to mention Melon. My boss at school runs the television station and advises the campus radio station so I've been talking to him about showing The Metro dvd on the campus station or possibly the Intimate and Interactive one (I think there's some copyright laws we have to talk about). What do you think? But for all my friends who dj music on the station I burned them a melon cd and they make sure to play a song or two...hehe......just so i'll shut up.

I do the same thing too, It constantly amazes me that everyone doesnt know any songs further than "no rain" and I feel like they are completely missing out on the most amazing music. Its almost like my "duty" to loan a melon CD and spread the music.

They are missing out on so much and alot of times I don't think people really give them any credit for being great until they've given the CDs a few run throughs.I really Loved 'em from the start. When I got a compuer in 99 & heard some live & acoustic sets & then got the Letters DVD It really confirmed why I liked them. They were absolute magic together. I've loaned the ones that have a couple skips on them out a few times. There's a wide range of reviews on them.I've had to buy all 3 CDs again because there's about 5 skips altogether on the CDs.The new ones get treated like babies & could never be loaned out.Talk at y'all later.

I just saw the movie "DiG!" It's quite the movie, has anyone on here seen it? It's about The Dandy Warhols and Anton Newcombe of the Brian Jonestown Massacre, it's crazy. Or as the Newsweek reviewer put it....It's like a spectacular roadside accident; you can't turn away.... Got any comments or insights about it? I'm not real familiar with the bands.

What do you think? I have no idea how does it work in this case I sure think it would be more than GREAT! After all it's about spreading their music and for me it's what matters most of all!

my boss/editor, here at my part time job just gave me an xmas gift...it's a hard cover photo book on the history of CBGB. it's freakin sweet. it's got mudhoney, smashing pumpkins, spacehog (royston!) and i don't even know who else, i just flipped through it quickly!
and my mom got me the danny clinch photo book "discovery inn". damn, it's cool. it's got tons of melon/shannon photos, plus, perry farrell, johnny cash, vedder, etc.
i can't wait to go home and check out the CBGB book some more.
i hope all you melons had a happy christmas, chanukah and whatever you celebrate.
peace, LP

I don't think I can do this Midnite shift too much longer. My sleep schedule is all messed up.I'm either half asleep or not knocked out enough to get a good rest. That's not good for anyone, especially someone who is adjusting to new Meds.I've kept my Blind Melon with me & sometimes it can really get my blood pumping when I'm waking up to get ready for work. The Blind Melon CD never leaves the van,& I've actually got a few people at work that hang out in my van on breaks.Lucky for them they are being exposed to Blind Melon, even if all they really want to do is find a warm place to smoke they're break away.Any way,I'm looking into going on Social Security Diasability. My Social worker says I can get the max they allow in 4-6 months.with retro pay. Some people go through lawyers and it takes them years.Mental Illness claims get rushed right through.

Well,I think its been over a month and a 1/2 since I posted anything,I change some stuff on my profile now & then.I've just been really out of my head lately, not feeling like my normal self. With the three Melon DVDs,and the old & new Melon CDs I have,I have managed to keep some sanity in my life,I'm still the Midnite oiler, joker & midnite toker. I've been using iMesh alot lately.& have actually found alot of good CDs to burn.I have so much new music to catch up on & alot of posts on the Forum to catch up on.Whenever I need a Dose of Melon It's so great to have more than the just the first 3 CDs & letters to choose from.I really think that The Duke on the I & I DVD is one of their best performances.Man,I have alot of catching up to do on The Forum,so I'm gonna do a little of that and watch some of The Metro Show DVD. There is actually another oiler on the Midnite shift who has been doing it for years. They're keeping him until he wants to retire plus they don't want me pulling strings right now,I have to learn more than I thought.Another challenge ! Yes!I'm reeady so bring it! Hey Galaxie, good to hear from ya! Didn't Zoe & Fer both move about the same time.? MeLuvsMeMelons
