Here are some things from blindmelon.com "Stuff". Just keep this in mind... ____________________________________________ Notice To Webmasters of Blind Melon Sites blindmelon.com will start hosting blind melon sites. so if you have a blindmelon site and want to be hosted under NameOfYourChoice.blindmelon.com then please send me an email and i will set up the webspace and email for you. ________________________________________________ They are all dead Its 3:51AM at the moment. Just finished surfing the web checking out other melon sites. I was actually hoping to find Blind Melon videos but sadly I didnt. I did find some TOOL videos though. So anyway what caught my attention the most is that most and by that i mean like 95% of the Blind Melon sites out there havent been updated in such a long time. Most dated to 97!! I mean what the fuck!? Than I went to Capital Records official site which was hollywooddivine.com or something and I couldnt even find Blind Melon on the list of artists there. Anyway what i am trying to say is that i will try to keep Blind Melon alive as long as I can. I am gonna go through the sites on my links page and whoever hasnt been updating i will remove from the list. BlindMelon.com will soon be hosting a new site. More info on that as soon as the webmistress uploads her site __________________________________________________ Thank You Everybody! Just wanted to thank everyone for keeping this site so much alive an kicking. All of you are just the fucking best. Also I really want to thank the people who have helped out with this site specially Texas Knight for the Cds and videos and Ken Brown for all the MP3s. THANK YOU EVERYONE __________________________________________________ Please Note: There is NO official Blind Melon site. www.blindmelon.com (this site) is NOT the official Blind Melon site. www.blind-melon.com states that ITS the official site but its also NOT. If I say I am official dosent mean I am. Hope that has made things a bit clearer ____________________________________________________ Blind Melon Merchandise! I am gonna try and sell Blind Melon stuff on this site, I don't know how yet and what there is I can sell but alot of you are having trouble finding any Blind Melon tshirts, posters etc.. so I will try to make your lives easier and maybe partner up with some company so I can get you the merchandise. Stay tuned for more on this in a couple of days. ___________________________________________________ Go check it out if you want, I think will agree he was definately a fan!

I never thought he wasn't. He wouldn't have started the site if he wasn't. He just seems to not have the time or desire to update the site. www.beemelon.com is the place to go. Vince takes the time to actually update the site, almost daily. If the members of the band had control of the site, we'd get so much info and rare stuff from them, every Melon fan would be happy.

I hope all this business will not stop them from making a website...?
I'm sure even if they had a site called bigjubblybowlsofcornflakes.com it would become the most popular melon site!

First, Hi Kiwi it's good to hear from you! I agree with u, I really loved the site he put in 2004 (the blue forum) and I'm very greatfull for all he did for us before . But I can't stand the fact that he acts like he wants to punish us for the critics and personal attacks made by some (very few) melonheads who are not here anymore... After that war started during the vigil 2004, he made a pool to ask ppl if they wanted the old site (the black one) back: he just let that pool online for like 2 days (at this moment a lot of very active members like u and Fer were in Indiana) and despite the fact that the majority wanted to keep it, he decided to switch and after that there was the 'Diego accident': Diego made a joke on april 1st 2005 and Mark used this as a pretext to shut down the black board, what Diego did was not a big deal. Actually, I found it funny... and now, it's been more than a year this site is dead Mark confirmed me a few months ago that it will stay that way so why did he renew the domain name knowin the band now wants it? He probably has hundreds of visit each day on his site... which means hundreds of lost melonheads probably looking for a melon mate they won't find. isn't that sad?

Kiwi, you know I love you and I respect your views 110%... Heck, I even shared them with you for the longest time.. But I think Charles put it very well, he acts like he's trying to punish everyone for the critics and that's not a very nice thing to do. I agree though that we shouldnt judge him based on some bad actions, and more than anyone else on this forum, Im guilty of that. I was the one who said he's not and could have never been a fan if he's acting this way but I guess we'll never really know. If he is, then I guess we just think VERY differently b/c I would NEVER do this to a band I admired.. and I wouldnt quit being a fan b/c they asked to buy my domain either, I'd be rather honored actually. But anyway, in respect to you and the patch I'll keep the names off the forum... Gotta keep the peace in the patch!

Hey kiwi, thanks for posting a different view. It's good to hear all the sides. I just came across this on the Hoonstruck site from a link off of Bee Melon's site. WOW I hope this forum never turns into the one that was on blindmelon.com "To give Mark some kind of credit, I am grateful to him for the old patch, because I didn't go there very often and I met a lot of wonderful people through it. I'll explain why I have such a problem with him though. When he changed the forum, he also changed his personality. He began ruling with an iron fist. He ignored requests for the old format, because HE thought this was better and it was HIS site, so fuck everyone else who missed the old patch. He began getting so pissed off at people asking for the old site back that he actually THREATENED to kick people off the site if they asked one more time. How are you going to do that to someone? How can you seperate a melon from their community and cut them off from their friends because they are requesting the old format? I got kicked off the board for defending someone and putting him in his place, god forbid you say anything bad about Mark! He began treating people like shit and I called him out on it. For that, I get kicked off. Then, he let me back on, but the second I came to someone else's defense that he was abusing his webmaster powers, I got kicked off again. I had never felt such frustration before. It's a horrible feeling not being able to communicate with your fellow melons because the webmaster doesn't like what you are saying about him! So....I got sick of it, and decided to give the people who like the old format another option...and I paid money to get a domain name... NOT PROFITING anything and buying sneakers off Amazon. I lost money. infact..I overdrew my account (cuz it was automatic withdrawl) and it coast me 35 bucks just in bank fee's alone a few times. (Thanks to my brother, I have the messgae board hosted under my jamiemusic.com page although I did lose the really cool domain name "hoonstruck.com" so now my brother pretty much pays for it once every few years or something like that) and what does Mark decide to do, now that I've spent my money on a site, after refusing to open the old patch up for the MONTHS that people were begging him? HE OPENS IT BACK UP! It was THAT easy for him...you have the new format for those who want to post there, and you have the old format for those who enjoy that better. give your people OPTIONS! It was THAT simple. Of course, he wouldn't do that until AFTER I paid money for my site. It's all a competition with him. He wants to be the reigning master of all Blind Melon sites, wich is the only reason he'll refuse to give up BlindMelon.com. He could easily run the same site from another domain name, but it wont be as 'popular' and he doesn't want to give that spot up. It's about him feeling like a bigshot...important. Or making money on some level. (gotta have those sneakers ya know). He's not a fan. Maybe he used to be, but he's morphed into something else. It's become a power trip of sorts for him. His forum was a huge part of my life for a long time and I will always be thankful to him for that. But he should have kept his webmastering in the shadows and respected the community more. If he did, none of this would have happened, and I'll be the band never even would have been trying to get the site back if he continued running it smoothly. Problem is, he became such a douche that I think the band probably really doesn't want this guy representing them, and everyone knows full well that BlindMelon.com is probably the most searched blind melon site because it seems like that would be the official site. He really brought this upon himself." there is a super nasty one if you go to the site and read a few posts under this one. i didn't really want to post it...tooo much bad energy But kinda off the subject, go to the Bee Melon site and check out the the girl who runs the Hoonstruck site, she does a desserted cover, it's bangin #music#

Thanks Kiwi for posting that, I havent been around as long, but remember the transition from the black board to the blue board and back to the black.
I am not arguing that Mark didn't have good intentions to start with, but I think somewhere along the line he lost interest, patience, and ran out of time to invest in the forum, site, and community. My argument is that out of respect for Blind Melon and the Fans he should let the domain go back to someone who will maintain it, and the Band is ready and willing to do this. Why he doesn't give it up at this point really doesn't make sense, unless he is doing it for selfish or wrong reasons.
I don't hate Mark and never went into this wanting to offend him, but I emailed him and attempted to discuss this nicely in the beginning and he emailed me back and called me a name I wont repeat here.....why would he act like that?

Hi Gelfling & all Melons, I checked out the link above & it is very interesting indeed. I am glad that they are fighting for what should be theirs since he is breaking laws in the process of denying the respectful request by the band for the domain name. I just think it is really shitty that they have to go to such trouble as taking legal action. Seems to me that this guy can't still be a fan if he is acting like this. Any true Melon fan or Melonhead I know would have been very grateful & honored to give the domain name back to the band that they love and enjoy so much. And what will be received in return would be awesome information & updates that we may otherwise never hear/have/see. Well I guess I had better stop writing before I get a little frustrated. Have a great day everyone & thanks Gelfling for the link.

Sorry that he treated you that way Gelf you definitely didn't deserve it and it only goes to show where his head is at. I can't understand why he is doing this. It would be so awesome to have a site owned by the band. In the meantime though this is a great place to be. I've met some wonderful, RESPECTFUL, caring people here and I'm thankful for that. I love the people here. #heart#

The thing is, if he gave the site back when they first asked, he could have been given a chance to work with them on the site... Perhaps befriend all the members.

The first Blind Melon site I ever saw was the site built by Andrew... It had a yellow background. I remember it being my favorite site because it had all the videos on it. Anyone else remember Andrew's site?
