en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_Melon"September 15th, 2006 Blind Melon announce that Travis Warren, fomerly of Rain Fur Rent is the new lead singer of the band and that they are working on a new album currently titled 'Ojibwe'." Is this true?

Where did they play their first ever gig? Rogers? Glen? Can you answer that? Maybe this is where the band should play their first gig - if it's a small club (that still exists) maybe only Melonheads on this forum should get notified secretly and tickets get sold on the door. The gig should be one of those 'suprise' gigs that used to happen back in the days (that I used to hear alot about - bands such as Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Smashing Pumpkins etc etc.) There's an idea! If this does happen - PLEASE record it!!! Yeah, that would totally rock. I saw 311 at a show like that. It was in downtown Chicago, on a vacant lot. Oh yeah, it was free too. But yeah, Miller Brewing used to do something called "Blind Date", where you would know who was playing until the curtains went up.

Here you go Chip, and anyone else that wants it. The infamous 1991 Phone Interview: download.yousendit.com/FBEB36E42E5D3E80 Hey Chip, what's with the weird symbols in the second story? "I remember Shannon getting this big ¡K hmm ¡K not even sure what to call it ¡K on his face...Shannon¡¦s got his hair pulled across his face so it shouldn¡¦t show his ¡§lemon¡¨ as he called the bump which appeared out of nowhere." What did he have on his face?

Wow, I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones. Let me see if I can remember each show .... * Opening for Soundgarden, Sister Double Happiness (Columbus, Oh) * Opening for Soundgarden, Sister Double Happiness (Cleveland, Oh) * 120 Minutes Tour w/ PIL, BAD, Live (Dayton, Oh) * Headlining (Agora, Cleveland, Oh) * Headlining (West Lafeyette, Indiana) * Headlining (Newport Music Hall, Columbus, Inclined opened) * Headlining (Bogarts, Cincy, Inclined Opened) * Opening for Lenny Kravitz (Nautica, Cleveland) * Headlining (St.Andrew's Hall, Detroit) * Opening for Neil Young, Dinosaur Jr (Blossom, Cleveland) * Woodstock '94 * Headlining (Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland) I may be missing one or two. I'm pretty sure that I saw every show they ever did in Ohio in addition to the show in Detroit, West Lafeyette, and Woodstock. They were supposed to play in Cleveland, I think, on the Soup tour (I'm pretty sure that date had already been announced) when Shannon died. Hey Chip, are you the Chip in the phone interview from 1991? If yes, it sounded like you and Shannon hit it off pretty well. Did the band hook you up when you saw them?

Ok, so Blind Melons back, right? Not only are they going to release a new album next year (keeping fingers crossed) but they're probably going to tour in support of it. They HAVE to play some old BM songs. The audience will be able to relate most with their old stuff, so they're gonna play some old songs for sure. What songs should they play and what shouldn't they play? What songs wouldn't be the same without Shannon? (Ok, of course they wont be exactly the same, but come on!) What songs do they absolutely have to play on the tour? Maybe we could get some request list going or something.
Should Play: Change, Tones of Home, Galaxie, Walk, No Rain, Holyman
Shouldn't Play: New Life, Soup, Soul One, Mouthful of Cavities, Car Seat (God's Presence)
Have to Play: No Rain, Change, I Wonder

"Jimmy, we need to borrow this for a minute ..." probably means Jimi Hendrix, because right after this verse they play well known riff from Hendrix's song "Manic Depression." The Jimi Hendrix riff is from The Wind Cries Mary, not Manic Depression.
