Tomorrow is going to be a fantastic day for music!!!
For the first time since November 12th, 1996, we officially get a new album from Blind Melon!!!
I am going to have my own little listening party. If I am the only one there, then so be it. I was hoping the physical cd would arrive today or at least tomorrow but I may run out and get the digipak to have something to look at. Anyway, I am pumped!
I contacted the guy in the U.K. that put the video up on Youtube, he says that Change was the only song they did. He did say that there was a short interview with Rogers after. He said he had it on VHS (or whatever they had over there at the time) and has since lost it.
To look at it a step further, I did a search on Yahoo for "signed cd sleeve" and "FYE". They are offering signed cd sleeves on quite a few releases. Methinks these are not actual autographs. Anyway, just passing it along.
I think it is really cool they take the time to respond with their busy schedules...
On a side note, I attempted to contact the label via their contact page and the email bounced back. Was asking them if they were planning on a vinyl release. Based on the fact that none of the other releases on their site are offered on vinyl, I doubt it. I know times are different in the music industry right now. How bout a small run for us diehards?
Man, if I was going about saying that there's nowhere in my town to find "whatever" and then the guitarist for my favorite band shows up and responds to my post, personally, I would take the time to check out the link that he provided instead of ignoring his response to my statement.
The interesting part is this little blurb found if you click on For My Friends:
Free Gift: While supplies last! Order now and you will receive a free signed CD sleeve from Blind Melon! Free signed CD sleeve to ship separately within 5-6 weeks. Limit 2 per household. Available only on new product (not used). While supplies last!

It satisfies that child part in me that would spend hours looking at my dad's vinyl collection. The artwork both mesmerized me and scared me (my dad was a hippie and some of that stuff is trippy when your a kid). It is art that can become another kind of art. I like to hang my bestest albums on the wall and vinyls jackets are great art. Sound. Sound. Sound. The hiss crackle and pop of vinyl gives me goose bumps.
All that being said, I will have at least 2 copies of For My Friends. The digital not passed around and rencoded 45 times version from the band and the cd that comes with the preorder (i think of that as stored uncompressed audio on a silver platter). I'll get vinyl if available.
Some phones are good for ringtones, others are not. The problem I usually run into, is getting the tone on the phone. Unless you have USB or can send tones to a phone via an uploader, then your screwed.
I found this. It is hit or miss with it working but may be a way to get tones on your phone. Tones of phones --- O.K. that was cheesy. Peace.

So there are a couple of soundtracks. Seems like I have heard No Rain on more then this but I could be wrong.
patzeller: ive seen the band in MN in 2015, Denver (home) in 2016 and last night in Chicago. Despite Brad missing, the bands chemisty was the best I’ve ever seen. Awesome awesome show. Guess I’ll be heading to Edmonton in June!

crobar: If you watch the video on youtube for "Change" at woodstock '94, a dude is welcomed out on stage to play the lead harp. Shannon thanks him but you can't hear the name. The guy killed it and I'd like to know who he is/was. Any help is appreciated.
