I met Brad and had a chance to chat with him briefly before AJ played at the BBQ on the River Festival in Paducah, KY on Saturday. I asked him if there's any talk about doing a 20th anniversary of Soup vinyl release next year, possibly for record store day. He DID say that there has been discussion, but he did express that if it did happen it there would need to be a demand for it. I added that the self titled did well when it was released for record store day, with him adding that the run for that release was only 2,000. I told him that the original Soup vinyl goes for as high as $300 on eBay. He said, "Really, it was released on vinyl back in the day? I don't even have one." Later saying, "Yeah, I've probably got one somewhere at the house." So I guess there's some hope out there. There are talks being done, so that's good. I guess we will just have to wait until April of 2015. Matt, have you heard anything about a vinyl release?

Great post. I was actually just wondering if there would be any kind of vinyl re-release of soup. If you guys hear anything, please share with us. There's definitely a demand!!

I love my Soup vinyl  Would love to see a reissue with the same attention to quality as the S/T, so many fans would also love to own 'Soup' on LP. Would be awesome to see 'Nico' get a vinyl release too, as it was never released on vinyl! 'For My Friends' and the 'Unified Theory' albums would all be great reissues! (I'd just love to see these three released with a nice mastering, all were mastered waaaay too loud, and could have sounded so much better)! |

To me, Soup is the most coveted vinyl in my collection. I am avid collector, have every first pressing of all the Beatles vinyl, and a collection nearing over 1000 titles.

I need me a copy of this!! I have been watching eBay for this for years, in hopes of scoring a deal, well the average price has gone up from about 150$ to close to 400$ just in the past 5 years. Folks want this one bad!!!

I spoke to Glen via email yesterday and he said "it should be out soon". That seems pretty interesting at the least.
