Early 1990's: It was morning between 10 and 11AM, early for most rock n rollers. Strolling hallways of the rehearsal studios, and checking to ensure everything was clean and bathrooms had toilet paper, a catchy melody emanating from one of the rooms caught my attention. No lyrics, just the music. I figured the band's singer was sleeping-in or they hadn’t worked out the lyrics yet. I sat down in the hallway outside their door and listened. No doubt, it was a future hit. The band was being courted by several major music labels. I was fending phone calls and refusing to confirm or deny the band was rehearsing in the building. Months later, I was attending a show for another band at a club on the Hollywood Strip, and was upstairs in private upstairs area of the club when my employer tapped my shoulder and pointed a TV monitor. Blind Melon’s hit video “No Rain” was airing. Smiling, life felt good, felt right. I was in the right place at the right time in my life, making a living in a creative environment. By Labor Day 1993, I had lost sight of that fact. Looking back and reflecting is fine, yet moving forward is of equal importance. Thanks for positive memories, Casper
