Wow! I just found this site, and very happy I did. I saw the date this morning and I started thinking about the old days, which inspired me to start searching the net for anything Blind Melon, related and was truly blown away with what I found.
I don't know why I have never done that before. I don't go online too often, plus to be honest, i stopped playing the first two albums (plus nico) shortly after '95, but dont be mistaken, this band has and still does have a profound affect on my soul.
I was 15 years old back in '93, when I first heard the band. (Just ripe for pickin'!) I was a jock and was on both the football and basketball teams at my high school. Upon hearing the first record I was forever changed. I grew my hair long, (still have it!) stared playing the drums and started smoking........ (still do!!). I quit the ball teams and changed friends, the classic story of many I know. Blind Melon inspired me creativley and literally eased the pain of those years by creating such astounding music and I am forever grateful to them for that.
Blind Melon were and are such an important piece of music history and need to be treated as such. After listening to all these songs again today it just reinforces those beliefs. And it is great to know that they are back and sound fantastic, as usual, even though missing Shannon.
Anyway, that's enough out of me. I got some more songs to listen to
