Hey all, this year will be my first vigil. This might be a strange question, but do people cook for the vigil? Or leave to go get food? We live not too far away so I was thinking about maybe cooking some casserole type dishes? I didn't know if this was practice or if anyone would even eat it, Thanks and see you all there!

Wow whittywhit that sounds amazing!!! I just celebrated Shannon's life at the Vigil 2011. First off I'm so happy for you that you will be coming this year and sharing in the love of everything that is Shannon. Secondly when I was there I got very hungry and did not have a car someone was so sweet and bought a bunch of pizza's that was truly a Godsend. Though I don't know you "YET" your heart is pure gold to even have such a kind& loving thought like that . Thank you. If you need any help cooking I'm a great cook. ;D I could also help in any way you see fit. Have a sparkling day, I can't wait to meet you.

There’s not a whole lot of places within walking distance at which to get food. Some people leave for meals. Someone like me who doesn’t drive or have a vehicle there would either need to catch a ride with somebody else to grab a decent bite to eat, or bring food with them. Last year I did a Walmart run ahead of time (Walmart’s right behind the motel I stay at) to get snacks, Gatorade, & water. I’d totally be eager to dig into some casserole someone brought — so long as it were pesce-pollotarian friendly!
