I'm hoping that someone with some pull in the right places will read this and get the ball rolling, but how does everyone in the Melon patch feel about Capitol finally pressing the self-titled album to vinyl in the U.S. for it's 20th anniversary next year?
No remastering (because you can't improve perfection) or any of that other crap except maybe add a second platter that includes studio outtakes or live tracks from pre-album shows in '92 or the Sippin' Time Sessions EP.
Anyone out there with me on this? I can't think of any record I'd enjoy having in my collection or dropping a needle down on more.
Even if the band themselves pressed it in a limited run, financed by pre-orders like Rhino records recently did with the Grateful Dead's 70 cd Europe '72 box set, I think it would be a big hit and a massive success for the band and fans alike. They could autograph it to sweeten the pot!
Thanks for your time. Please spread the word!!

I'm game. They could do it as limited number release on Record Store Day next year, April 16. That was you'd be supporting Blind Melon and your local record store.

I'd be all over this! Maybe a double 45rpm press? And definitely no remastering! Or if they remaster don't jack up the volume (like 99% of mastering engineers do these days, killing the dynamics of the recording! *Cough* Pearl Jam Re-Issues *Cough*). BUT, what I'd really, really love to see would be an LP of the 'Nico' album, pressed from the original masters to vinyl, by a reputable mastering engineer! It's never before been pressed to vinyl, and would complete my melon on vinyl collection!
