Hmmm. I just check airfare from PDX to IND and it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. Maybe I can attend? Just don't wait too long to buy tickets. I checked on prices about a month before and flying from Detroit was very affordable, but then when my ride canceled at the last minute and I had to book a ticket, the price was twice as much for my 34-minute flight. I will be there for sure again this year. I booked the days off surrounding the weekend back in January. ;D

Hi! So Veterans, let me ask a few questions: 1. do we need to purchase tickets in advance for the Vigil Stock? 2. what hotels have you been to in the past? 3. what kind of temperature you're talking at night time? I just CANNOT wait to be there. We're coming from Maryland...I have wanted to do this for a long time but was too far to make it over... See you all on Saturday afternoon(will have to miss the Friday unfortunately, bloody works that gets in the way of LIFE).

See you all on Saturday afternoon(will have to miss the Friday unfortunately, bloody works that gets in the way of LIFE). I CANNOT wait to meet you, Tiz!!! 1. You don't need to buy advance tickets for vigilstock. Just show up to the Lafayette theater and pay $5. It's a really small and intimate event and doesn't get crowded at all 2. Almost everyone stays at the Knights Inn. It's cheap and it's almost become a second home now Just know though that it isn't fancy at all... More like a dump, really Also, you might not find it easy to get a lot of rest as there is usually partying going on night and day If you're down with that though I think you will find that there's no better place to be Otherwise, check out the FAQ thread at the top of this section for a list of other places to stay. 3. Temps are usually really warm during the day and sometimes cold at night. I'd bring summer clothes and just a really good jacket and some socks. And don't forget to bring blankets for sitting in at the cemetery.

Thank you Gab, very helpful!!! I cannot wait either! I'll check with hubby about the hotel...I'm down with it but he likes to rest and does not party (or drink, should I say?)....We'll see what he thinks! I MUST remember blankets, I MUST!!! September is going to be Blind Melon month! YAY! Seeing them Monday!!!

Although I can't be there in person, I'm hoping that it is fantastically wonderful & that all you melons have a great time. I'll be celebrating the weekend watching & listening to Melon & lighting candles & dancing about while singing, that's my plan. Until next year...

I have been a fan for a long time, but I just found out about the vigil that happens every year. Yesterday I took the day off and drove over to be their for the vigil. I didnt know anyone and I just kept to myself, but everyone seemed very friendly and like a big family. I was not able to stay very long but I enjoyed my time thiere and meeting Nel was amazing. I look foward to seeing every one their next year
