I never mentioned any "broken promises" so not sure what you are referring to. Are we talking about the same doc.? Are fans putting together the doc. of all of Hoon's home video's? Thats the 1 I'm talking about.
Maybe Brad you are putting together a different 1 I'm not aware of. If so, more power to ya, & take all the time you need lol.
I'm just saying it's lame that we have to wait. Hoon passed in 95. It's 2013. Those Hoon vids coulda been put out by now.
Cobain blows his head off & you can find a ton of stuff on him.
Just sayin..
Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers of anyone on here working on a project. I can't be the only one wondering when the Hoon home videos are coming out...

Currently there is no information about the documentary to which you are referring. This is the only documentary endorsed by the band (which has been in production since 2007 and will include some of Shannon's footage). There may be other unauthorized documentaries in production but none of them will contain any of Shannon's footage. It is important to note that we have nothing to do with this documentary apart from consenting to appear in it. Our involvement may change and it may not. It is possible that something may be out this year but that is impossible to know at this point.
You do realize that you may contact any of the band members through a private message on this forum, or directly through a private message on facebook? In the future, rather than asking random questions to a group of people no more informed than you, why not ask a band member?
Cordially,
Glen Graham

I would love to see the documenteries but I think a movie would be great too. As much as I liked the Doors movie, Val Kilmer did a great job of bringing Jim Morrison to the big screen, that was my favorite movie for quite a while.
I think Shannon Hoon and Blind Melon's story is just as compelling or even more so.
Jim Morrison kind of fell into music with his poetry and association with Ray Manzarek, while Shannon left Indiana for L.A. with the dream of making music a career. I'm sure there are a million stories to be told about the good times forming the band and those guys making music together and the years they spent touring they had to have been having the time of their lives in LA taking in the music scene. Not to mention the deamons that obviously pushed Shannon to his limits and ultimately his tragic end.
In a way it all reminds me of the Bad Company song, shooting star. There's a reason the symbol for tragedy and comedy are the symbol for acting and the arts, it makes for great theatre and I think Shannon's story posesses both, he seemed to have an outgoing personality and sense of humor and of course the tragedy is there.
It's just hard to believe the entire Blind Melon/Shannon Hoon story is summed up by the 3 albums of songs, there is more there and I hope we get to see it one day.

I would like to see a Shannon movie! Ugh the movie industry keeps remaking all these lame movies when there are plenty of things out there that they could be making movies about! There was supposed to be a Freddie Mercury movie with the dictator guy playing him but I recently heard that fell apart. *cries*
