Ok Melonheads,Just out of Curiosity...
With Blind Melon's Debut Album Nearing its 20 year Anniversary Mark, What Blind Melon Song (From any Album) Would you Like to see Being Covered By another Artist/Band? Which Artist/Band? and Why? Whether it be Because You think the Artist would Sound really great Covering it, or Because You think That a particular Artist would Have enough Influence to expose "New listeners" to our favorite Band's Creation, That Normally wouldnt have been exposed to Blind Melon Music. Whatever the reasoning Behind Your answer....Lets hear it.

Every time I try to expose someone to BM I play Carseat. I would think Incubus could do a kick ass job...

Incubus...Theres a Band That I Probably wouldnt have Thought of. Nice Direction. Thats what I am Looking For. Incubus is a Great Band, Never even imagined what They would Sound Like Doing a BM Cover, But You've Forced Me to Think about it. Thanks for the Input. Anyone else Have any Ideas?

I think mgmt could pull it off with andrew vanwyngarden taking the vocal roll. When watchin an in studio video by them last year Shannon came to mind during Andrew's vocal parts, not sure why? melodies maybe, ora, probably a combo of both. It would definitely make for an interesting cover. Not sure what song, would have to ponder that a while.

Hmmm idk if I like the idea of them being covered yet but ah well it is comin, im just bein stubborn. but if i had to choose someone to try their best to do them justice, I would have to say maybe the black keys (w/ their session musicians), or even, maybe Dave Matthews. honestly he is a great musician with a big enough band to capture, and maybe exemplify, their sound. Of course it would have to be a band that loved melon. only then would any band be able to try to begin to do Blind Melon justice by doing a big cover(wich it would have to be if it was a melon song!).
cold war kids just dawned on me too, for vocals and spirit...

Ha Ha! Now we Are getting Somewhere! Great Thoughts, I apreciate all of You Giving Your Input. Dave, I am with You, I Am Not Sure I am Ready for anyone to Cover Melon either...But we gotta Get over that, Because it is in Fact coming very soon. Too Many People were influenced By Blind Melon. Its been almost 20 Years since the release of the Debut Album, so You do The Math? Yep, I am Gonna go out on a Limb Here, and say that within the Next three Years Someone is gonna Cover Blind Melon In a Big Way. The Hardcore Fans May Not even Like the Cover, But the General Public is gonna Love it. Its been said Many Times that Blind Melon was before their time, and I think the Music would sell better today than it did Then. Blind Melon Had some Amazing Songs That Never got the recognition they desrved, But There is a Big Name Artist waiting right Now To Take one of those great songs all The way to the Top of the Charts. I cant complain, Maybe it will Bring the Younger Generation to the Knowledge of "Blind Melon". We May even gain a few new Melonheads from the deal...Who Knows?

Between The Buried And Me have already covered Change. It's not too bad, but it's different. But, I think The Black Crowes would do an awesome cover of anything. And Regina Spektor, too.

Hey Sassofrassquatch, I appreciate You turning me on to the Change Cover By Between the Buried and Me. I checked it Out...Not Bad really. I Didnt think it was "Amazing" by any means, but nice to hewar someone elses Position on the song. Black Crowes Might be One Good option. Never really Thought about them doing a Melon Cover either (although I do Love the Black Crowes). That would be an interesting Cover for Sure. I am Not Highly familiar with regina Spector, But I am Gonna Check into that too. Thanks again for the Input, everyone.

It would amaze me if I heard a cover of BM that I would want to hear more than once. I heard the between the buried and me cover on change..it wasn't bad, just not something I could listen to often. The song is too perfect

I'd like to see Jason Mraz or Ben Lee do a cover of No rain.

Hey everyone should vote ME for a cover on that body of tribute work. If I am left out I am gonna be VERY upset. I have just completed writing lyrics and recording vocals to their song Untitled in C. I'm just afraid to post it anywhere. But it has turned out pretty cool for ripping the track from youtube into my sony software and me just adding vocal tracks and mixing them in. Anyway I have been trying to get an 'in' with these guys for years, and I really need a next level event for myself as well. Would be awesome to do it paying respects to the best musicians EVER. Incubus shminkubus!! Thomas Sparks can do this!! I could really use ya'lls support around here...peace,,,TS
