Hi,
I'm Jen. I live in Canada about 15 miles outside Detroit, MI on the other side of the river.
I haven't been a fan of current music since about 1995. Sure, there've been some good bands and decent albums (much of it Canadian indie stuff), but in general, mainstream music today in my opinion sucks. Musically, I'm stuck in like the mid-90s ---- still a lot of the same favourite bands/songs: A sign of getting old maybe, but I think I'm alright with it; my tastes are what make me ME, and they don't change much. If I'm listening to the radio, I put it on the classic rock station 'cause I know chances are I won't be able to stand what's playing on any of the others (unless it's Sirius, in which case Lithium makes me very happy).
I'm sure everyone here is in agreement on the greatness of Blind Melon. They were/are extremely underrated, of a higher calibre than much of the other stuff out there, and cut short way too soon. They're one of those bands whose music I've never stopped loving. In particular, the combination of their psychedelic-folk-jam sound, emotion, and irrefutable talent are what sets them apart.
I must say, the bee girl analogy about coming across this place does fit.

Nice to meet everybody [in advance]!
