+1, this is what I came to these boards for. Anyone who can post "Everyday" or "Weeping like a willow" tabs/chords would be doing the world a great service.

I made an account just to post on this thread, although I have monitored this site for quite a while now. I'd like to post my ideas for Everyday.
intro: Starts off w/ picking the A chord with slight variations if you listen. (some hammer-ons/pull-offs on D string)
"Can I hold your hand" | (brief pause) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------0---- -3--5--3--------3--------5p3---3-------------------------------------1p0--------0-------- ---------------------0----------------5--------7p5------5---0h2--2--------------1----- -0---------------0-----0------0--------0------------0----------------------------2----- --------------------------------------0-----0-------------------------------------2----- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------0---- Let E ring at the end Chorus "the way you looked before..." picked ------------------------------------------------------------------------- --1-------------1----1---3p1--1--0h1------1------------------------------------------ --0-------------0----2---------------------2----1------------------------------------ --2--3--2--0----2----2---------------------2----2------------------------------------ --3-------------2----0---------------------0----2------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------0------------------------ Its essentially C-E(variation)-A-Em pick each note accordingly, you'll have to time it with the song
Interlude: "Son gonna be just like me..."
------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- -2------2---------------------------------------------------- -0h2----3---------------------------------------------------- -0------0---3--2--1-----------------------------------------
Wind down: "I feel is every day.." / hollering basically strumming the chorus C - E? - A
0 0 0 Near the end the same hammer-on/pull-off's apply 1 1 1 for A the 3h1 and the 0h1 0 0 1 2 2 2 3 2 0 0 0 0
not perfect but i thought i would give it a start, any ideas? I really enjoy this song and would like to get it down perfect so post any thoughts or corrections plz.
-Sean
EDIT: sorry if some things aren't aligned 100% the text box messes with it, but you should be able to figure out what i meant.

Another thing, It sounds to me the basic progression for Weeping like the Willow is:
0---0---0---0 3---3---5---3 4---4---6---4 4---5---7---5 2---5---7---5 0---3---5---3
obviously picked, but throw some slides in there between the chords

seanssn87 I think you're pretty close He starts off each verse with Am and uses hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides on the B string (goes up to the 5th or 7th fret maybe and back to the Am chord before finishing the verses with E) At the end of the song he does the same rolling bass on the A string as in the Choruses I'll eventually do a basic tab with lyrics so I'll post it on here when it's done if it's still needed

Can I hold your Hand? Try to understand that I may be giving everything I have, Is it the same? Nothing here has changed me or the course I'm plannin' on taking
The way it looked before, Felt better from the window, And now it's under my toes and now you know I am, Remember how it looked before, And It felt better from the window, Now that it's fadin' away I feel it everyday. Yeah.
Said son your gonna be just like me, Said son gonna be just like me, Said son gonna be just like me,
At the end of the day, I sit back smile and say ?been from wrong and lived another?
The way you looked before, Felt better from the window, It's under my toes and yeah you know I hide, Remember how it looked before, And It Felt better from the window, Now that it's fadin' away, I feel it everyday. Yeah, Yeah, Little bit, little bit, little bit every day, yeah, Little bit every day, Yeah. Oh little bit, little bit little bit everyday, yeah.
Not sure about one line there, there may be others wrong but this is what I heard, I've been working for a couple days now to make sense of this tab, when I have more sense of It, I'll post a better version.

to Holyman47, I think the line with the question mark in it is "at the end of the day, (sniffel) I'll sit back smile and say 'Hey I proved em' wrong and lived anotherererer'"

Hi, I'm new here. Still haven't posted an introduction though but I'll get to it soon enough. :B
Don't know if OP is still here to see this (Or has found another tab), but anyway, I was looking for a little help figuring out this song too but couldn't find directions anywhere. The one tab on here is quite accurate, I changed it around a bit and I think I might have gotten the chords right -- I haven't (yet) figured it out the exact same way Shannon plays it (And given that it sounds like he was improvising a little bit trying might not be that worthwhile anyway), but to me it sounds like that this progression I came up with fits the melody just fine. Here, this is the way I play it, you be the judge:
The beggining lick that someone posted previously is spot-on. I do it like this:
B-3-5-3-0 D-0-0-0-0
If you think about it for a second, the melody translates as D - E - D - B, so you can do it with powerchords too if that's the way you roll.
And then for the "Son gonna be just like me" bit I use an Am shape and change the bass note:
E-0-0-0-0-0 B-1-1-1-1-1 G-2-2-2-2-2 D-2-2-0-0-0 A-0-3-2-0h2
So the progression here is the same as the chorus; Am - C - Em - Em
If you put it all together, it goes like this:
(Beggining lick) Am Can I hold your hand? (Beggining lick) C Try to understand, Am I might be giving everything I Em (Em7 works fine as well) have...
Am------C--------------Em---- -----The way you looked before --------------------Am felt better from the window -------------C---------Em-------------------Am And now it's under my toes and now you know I am, -----C------------------Em--- Remember how it looked before, ---------------------------Am And It felt better from the window, -------------C-----Em----------------- Now that it's fadin' away I feel it everyday. Am------C------Em------Em ----------Yeah, yeah, yeah...
And that's it, at least basically. I guess that you can get the song to sound differently if you try alternative fingerpicking or strumming patterns, that's up to whoever is playing, but for as long as you base it all on these chords you should be able to sing the melody over it with no problems.
I hope future generations find this useful! xD
Best regards, Dante.
