Ok I didnt see a thread for this movie and although of the 80s slasher movies Michael Myers story and character was more believable than Freddy and Jason....although the story morphed into the fantasy of the unbelievable in later movies.....I seen a few old posts about serial Killers, Ed Gein.....Manson Family and rather than bring those way old threads back out I thought itd be interesting to mention this movie....... Rob Zombies take on Michael and the whole character background is amazing ......to get inside his head a lil deeper and know what drove him to being a heartless murderer was fascinating...not that i didnt love the original .....
now as far as real serial killers go I read Helter Skelter ( way back in high school )and that is by Vincent Bugliosi who tried the case so yes it does have alot of legal stuff in it although i found it to be an interesting read...Gabbee did you ever get out to spahn ranch or the Tate/ Labiancas to have a looksee? I would wanna go someday....and yes that was the interview w/ Shannon (Chip Midnight from Columbus, Oh.) where Shannon talks about going out there.....

I haven't seen the Rob Zombie version, but I'll agree that might be interesting to see.
Does Gabbee live near there? Pretty sure the Tate residence was bulldozed and another home built on that site. (There were rumors of a haunting)

I think Rob Zombie could be a better director. I think he kinda ruined Halloween. And House of a Thousand Corpses was basically a re-make of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I would like to see him create something completely original. No borrowed ideas or re- makes. Hollywood has become very lame in that aspect. You hardly ever see an original movie anymore. I think Rob could break out of that trend. I think he could do better.

I think his take on Halloween was great! House of 1000 Corpses was pretty lame. The Devil's Rejects was a great movie though. Check that out, if you haven't.

I've seen Zombie's revisioning of Halloween & Halloween 2. They were good, interesting spin offs of it, but I'd have to agree with Theduke, Devil's Rejects was my favorite and a better work.
