I thought this section was getting a bit stale and old, obviously cuz there isn't a Melon tour to speak as of right now, so I'm posting here just to freshen it up and recall myself driving to Rhode Island for their 1st show back. What a feeling I had to actually to be going to see the band I never thought I'd see.
I wish Melon was on tour

Thanks grumpin for reviving this topic~ remembering our tour experiences and feelings!
My first show was Charlotte NC, and I had to drive there from Atlanta with my brother. It was a 3.5 hr drive and we were so excited to be going to a Blind Melon show, something that we thought we would never have the chance to do. Kinda like the feeling that Brad talked about~ your childhood dog that had been dead for years, shows up at your door~ so unreal. We first pulled up @ the venue, there was the bus and there was Travis walking the lot on his cell phone, we were sooo stoked at this point. #smiliebounce#
We checked into this crap hole hotel, close to the venue. Cleaned up and headed for the Tremont, thinking we need to be there VERY early, like 5:30pm and the show started @ 9pm. We pulled into the lot right next to the bus, we had to look like 2 idiots out there, you could see at one point that they pulled the shades down on the bus, they probably spotted us freaks out there stalking #smiliecrazy#
Brad and Rogers came over and talked with us for a while, I was like a babbling teenager, I was shaking from excitement.
Eventually, the staff came out and asked us for a band pass, and when we couldn't produce one they asked us to move to the parking lot across the street. I'm very grateful for ALL the shows I was able to get last year, but the first show was such an experience.
Hoping for many more shows in the future~ Keep on rockin guys #hoonsmiley#

Our "tour-versary" is coming up March 18th. We saw them one year ago in Milwaukee at the Rave. We parked right by their bus and I thought, this can't be happening. I'd never been to a show like that before, with a mixture of old fans and new ones. Incredible vibe! We tried to make it to every show within driving distance that summer/fall. Ended up at 7 total. I'm so grateful for each one, and I'll never stop hoping they'll be back.

As long as we're reminiscing... My first and only show up til this point was Shannon's 2008 Vigilstock in Lafayette! It was only the old songs, and that was the beauty of it. Most of the time they had played in the bars so my younger sister, who is at least as obsessed as me, finally was able to get in and see a show! The music was better than I ever could have possibly imagined! And all the guys were so nice and got my harmonica signed by all of em including Nel. Thats one night ill never forget and I hope that soon ill be able to feel that out of body sensation once again!!

a 2009 summer with Blind Melon on tour would really be super. I would like for them to be only playing outdoor shows with grass under our bare feet and plenty of room to dance.

me too, I was at the beach last week, sitting there soaking up the sun with my feet buried in the sand thinking.......the only thing that could be better than chillin on the beach would be a Melon show on the horizon. Just something to look forward to, a small taste of some up in your face Melon. Like I've said before, it's like therapy for me, I'm in desperate need of some Melon therapy. I'm gonna be patient though and looking forward to my next session~

I do miss my melon shows....
I miss seeing not only the band but also all the melon heads I have met. I was thrilled to see Meredith, Sonya, Greg and Gabby last weekend. I wish everyone lived closer so we could all see each other all the time. And yes, I need BM to get back out there. My car is missing all the extra mileage..my driving is rusty!
