Since the remake of Friday the 13th is less than a month away, I was wondering if there is any interest in it here at the forum? I know that I can't wait!!!

Hollywood is a fucking joke these days. Absolutely NO original though. I mean, HOW do they get away with this shit? I say, make new movies, stop re-making incredible films. Leave them be! Just my $0.52  |

The remakes haven't been the greatest and I don't think that Halloween should have been touched, but I think that Friday the 13th might have a chance. The original Friday had some serious pacing issues.

Right up there with the original and in some respects better...Overall, this is my second favorite movie behind Part 2, but it is a close second and an unrated version might just push it over the mark.
Warning Spoilers:
Everything I expected and then some. I tried not to go in with too high expectations as horror remakes have been pretty shitty over the years. However, Friday the 13th was a pleasant surprise. The soundtrack was different but still effective, acting wasnt as bad as most horror movies matter of fact I actually liked almost all of the characters.
The death scenes were somewhat creative. Nothing that will blow your mind, but nothing that was really crappy either. Plus I am sure the unrated blu ray release will add more for all the gore fans out there. Overall, I really liked the new Jason and seeing him back in old form like the earlier movies with him running was nice. It always bothered me in later movies how he would walk after someone sprinting and still catch them. For the guys seeing it the girls are very attractive which is always a plus. Drugs and alcohol present as well as the rest of the cliches.
Some things that bothered me was a couple pacing issues that hurt and a scene where a guy cheats on his girlfriend. She catches him in the act and doesn't even say anything...lol. Not sure about you but if I did that to any of my old girlfriends and was caught...shit I would have been shot. Anyway, supposedly the movie is doing really well in the box office and I must say I am extremely glad. A sequel is surely in the works and I can't wait for this one to come out on blu-ray/dvd (especially so Matt can see it!!!). We are supposed to get an extra 15 minutes of footage on that release. If you are a fan of horror movies do yourself a favor and go see this movie. Remember to have fun and don't think so much... Jason is definitely back with a vengeance!

The re-make of Friday the 13th was so shitty. It was cheesier then all the originals. Don't get me wrong. I love Jason. But Hollywood really fucked this one up.
