We had a primitive site right on the wabash kind of by ourselves. It was really nice and we wished we could have enjoyed the campground more as we were on the go from Nel's to the concert to the vigil etc. I am not 100 percent sure that I am going this year but if I do I will definitely be there!

I would love to go to the Vigil 2009, I think it would be a great time but I just cant make it happen . So I made a donation to the Vigil 2009 fund to help those who can go have a great time. Cant wait to see some pics from this year Vigil. Someday I will be there. 8-)

Hello fellow melonheads!!! I am from CHICAGO, and definitely going to the vigil this year. I really dont happen to have a friend that is a melonhead like me out here, so if anyone from chicago would like to carpool with me, i will be driving up. I know the town from last year and can easily get us situated with a place to stay. Let me know soon by responding to this or emailing me a message. I would love to have the company of another new friend!
(Last year I brought LILLY!!! shes an awesome chick from serbia)

If anyone's coming from central Indiana, I'm coming from Muncie, so if anyone needs a ride, let me know! Or if you're flying into Indy, I can pick you up there too!
48 days... can't wait!!!

I'm looking at flying into O'Hare from Boston and arriving @ 9:35am Chicago time... Is there any transpoetation to Indiana from O'Hare? I'd hate to get stuck =/
Also, I'm flying out Monday @ 10:10am if that helps! Maybe we could form a carpool from the airport or something?

You could probably take a cab from the airport to the bus station and then get on a bus to Lafayette or rent a car. But if you feel comfortable, your best option would prob be contacting ottomelon since he will be coming from Chicago and offered to pick people up.
Good luck!

Just booked the flight and I couldn't be more excited!!! It will be nice to get with some "Blind" minded people! =) I was torn between going to New Orleans and the Vigil but I think I chose wisely...
Still working out the details on how to actually get to the vigil, but who needs details, right?
Is anyone planning on camping, or do most people rent rooms?

:(I have been looking forward to being there this year. I have already made reservations and everything. But due to recent events in my life I am quite torn on what to do. I am not sure if I will be in the right frame of mind to make it an enjoyable time for myself. I haven't really had the chance to sit down w/my buddies that are susposed to be coming w/us to talk about it. I guess I will keep you guys posted. Oh, and thanks to all who have sent me there condolences. I do love all my melon friends!

Still working out the details on how to actually get to the vigil, but who needs details, right? Is anyone planning on camping, or do most people rent rooms? Wise choice! I love New Orleans and it must have been a tough decision but Nola is there year round while the Vigil is only once a year. Anyway, if you can get to the bus station in Lafayette my friends and I can pick you up and take you to the hotel/cemetary/whatever. Most people get rooms at the Knights Inn but it looks like this year there will be some people camping. It gets cold at night though, so if you decide to do that, be prepared (then again, I'm from TX, I don't know what real cold is lol). :(I have been looking forward to being there this year. I understand how you feel about going on this trip and I'm sure everyone will understand if you decide not to come but in the end, it might be a healing experience for you all. I hope you do what's right for you, and I hope that what's right for you is to come because I would really love to give you a hug! #smileyhug#
