This is really amazing - Nel is my hero in every sense of the word..
Is anyone having trouble downloading it? I did it and when I tried to open it, is says it was not found and I had to search the internet or a list of programs to open it with? So I tried and it could not find a way to open it? I used Nel's link and then clickde at the bottom of the page where the download was? Her link was the same as in the 1st post here but that doesnt' work for me either...I have plenty of space on my computer and it seems to download it fine - just can't open it!
Any advice would be appreciated!!! This is torture!

..... and i hope this will relieve some tension I hope so too. a lot of that bickering soured me from stoppin in as much for a little while. I'm glad everyone gets to hear this stuff now. and should it make its way to a commercially released thing, with or without extra stuff... I'd buy it then regardless of having it already. Hell, i did that -- as did many -- who had FOR MY FRIENDS in like OCTOBER, or November of 2007-- with the album not out til APRIL. anyway.. enjoy it everyone.

ok...so... i have no idea how to change these .flac files to .mp3... what do? ? If you're wanting to listen to FLAC files then you can get winamp for free ( www.winamp.com ) and listen to them via that. You can burn to a cd (winamp can do that) then after burning just rip the songs back into mp3.

Hello all, agree can anyone PLEAE post these as mp3's or Wavs or AIFF's . These flac files are a f'ing disaster, I downloaded the software then it asks to load but says invalid torrent file or then want to take days to torrent or whatever the hell it is trying to do. BAD SYSTEM I downloaded 130 MB or whatever samme size mp3 would have been. cant someone just post these for a straight download or an FTP site? PLEASE NO MORE FLAC FILES EVAH! IT'S LIKE GODDAMN 40 STEPS TO DOWNLOAD 8 SONGS THEN STILL DOES NOT WORK. AND I AM A VIDEO AUDIO PRO.
NO EXTRACTING WITH THE APTLY NAMED LAME CODEC , AUDACITY BLAH BLAH BLAH.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SOMEONE POST ON A FTP SITE FOR STRAIGHT DOWNLOAD
3 MINUTES AWAY FROM PUTTING MY HEAD THRU THIS COMPUTER MONITOR

Windows Instructions for decoding FLAC files1) Download and install the FLAC software flac.sourceforge.net/download.html2) Once you've installed the FLAC software there will be an icon on your desktop called "FLAC Frontend". The icon should look like this: Double-click the "FLAC Frontend" icon to open the program. You should see the following window: 3) Click the "Add Files" button in the upper-right hand corner of the FLAC Frontend window 4) Select the FLAC files you wish to decode 5) Click the "Decode" button to decode to WAV files in the same folder as the original FLAC files **Please Note in the bottom right hand corner of the emulator. The program defaults that the Output files will be stored in the same location as the Input files. This can be changed by clicking the button to the right of the text << same as input directory >> **6) You're done! You can now listen to the WAV files in an audio player of your choice or burn them to CD for playing in your home stereo system. Please let me know if anyone needs assistance converting a WAV file to a MP3 file and I will be happy to point you in the right direction.

I went to download Flac, and it gave me avs4you. Is this the same thing? No, 'avs4you' is not the same thing. The only thing I can figure is that maybe you clicked on the advertisement. The download should have started automatically when you made you selection from flac.sourceforge.net/download.htmlHopefully this screenshot with added notes will help assist you. Let me know if you run into further troubles.

This would be a great thread to remind us where we can donate to the vigil fund to give back. I would have glady paid $$$ for this "gift".
