Hi there fellow melons. I'm writing a short story which is based on the life of Shannon. It's fiction so it's not that deep in the facts of Shannon. But yet dedicated to him. Just a question. Anyone know if he ever was into a religion. Maybe on sundays in Lafayette? His parents forced him to anything? Was hes family religious? I've read in Axl Rose's non autorized biography that Lafayette at that time was divided in to two areas, separated by a river (one rich one poor). Where in Lafayette did Shannon grow up? I really would like to know. No one would like to read a falls fiction, right!?

Hey gurkan. I don't know whether Shannon was forced into anything by parents in regard to religion, but Shannon did believe in God. One interview where he expresses some of his beliefs in God is at I&I '95. I've transcribed what he said, "Death can be... seems like it's interpreted as a very lonely thing, but if you do have faith in God in death I don't think it's that lonely of a trip. I believe He watches everything you do".There are several threads that have been made about Shannon and religion. I'll find them for you. It is the River Wabash that flows through Lafayette, splitting the city of West Lafayette from the city of Lafayette. Shannon lived in the city of Lafayette. I don't know the wealth of the two areas though. I believe this map shows the area where Shannon grew up, and the marker shows where Nel lives. I hope this helps you.

Lafayette is where they both grew up. And they only real differences is that West Lafayette is Campus. Purdue is over there so a lot of teachers and junk live over there so I can see how they say rich or poor, but really the bottom line is there really isnt a difference besides a river sperates the two

i agree with lemonade. both lafayette and west lafayette have their rich and poor communities, almost equally i would assume, you just wouldnt notice as much bc of the campus and student activity on the west side.
