Yeah,I got shoved so hard one time at St. Andrews that it rattled my teeth.I started to turn around but I just kind of stopped & I could've swore I heard someone close to me say,Don't get kicked out!So I just turned to face the stage again with a smile & enjoyed jumping up & down & acting like The True Freak that I am at a Blind Melon Show. I Love all 4 Shows for different reasons as I'm sure alot of Melons feel about Shows that they've seen.

Hey Hoondogdetroit, nice meeting you and your wife again on NYE (I'm the guy who stood next to you at the May Flint show and by coincedence sat behind you the next night at the Tigers game).
I will say that whoever poured a drink over Hoondogdetroit's head on NYE must have a big pair of brass ones (or is real stupid). Hoondogdetroit is about 6'5". ;D

As stated, Hoondogdetroit was one of the tallest up front. Myself and about 100 other people would have seen someone intentionally pouring a drink on a 6 foot guys head. Yeah, things got "energetic" and some jumping and bouncing started and yeah, a drink may have gotten spilled but that is way different then poured. I would have been pissed to get a drink spilled on me as well, problem was when he spent the rest of the show trying to get any of about 100 people to fight him. If your going to play up front at a concert, understand you may get shoved or having something spilled on you by ACCIDENT. I don't feel Melon shows are for moshing anyway. Go to a Slayer show for that.

Moshing is for people who lack important chromosomes. It's the dumbest thing I've ever seen at a show. Anyone who shoves someone or digs an elbow where it doesnt belong deserves to be put to sleep.

The crazy thing was when I got shoved at St. Andrews Hall,I was in front of the soundboard, noone was moshing around me,just some jerk shoved someone else into me,very hard.I was ready to take on 1 or 2 right on the spot in the wrong way.Glad I didn't cuz I'd have probably gotten pulverized & missed the Show. I got bumped once on New Years, which was as much my fault as anyone elses, but only a huge drop of beer jumped out of my cup & went right in my eye.It was funny more than anything else.Blind Melon sounded so good on NYE that I didn't mind not beeing able to see for a short time.

hehehe Man whats with all the complaining about beer getting spilled (I heard it from a bunch of people there too)? I came out of there REEKING of alcohol and my hair one sticky mess but I'll be damned if it didn't smell like perfume to me at the time because I was so happy. Good thing I wasn't drinking that night, I would have been the one spilling my drinks all over the place (because the front rows of a show are supposed to get wild!) Possibly the last BM show ever and we have nothing better to talk about than beer getting spilled??? Doug, wheres the rest of the party pictures at? I know you got more! Brad and Lynnea, I love you!

Ah, yes, the beer spillage. It was an extremely small price to pay for such a subliminal experience. Does anyone know who the gentleman in the neck brace was? He really wanted to be up front and was unsuccessful after many attempts to do so. And while I know this thread isn't technically related to this question, any word on when we might see the footage from NYE? Is it going to be on that new DVD that BM has been talking about?

We could talk about how Loud yet Technically sound The Band was that night.I mean they sounded as good as I've heard them & Travis, what can I say,He also souded as good as I've heard him. They played those songs together amazingly & maybe there was less interaction but they were great together.Tight.You just can't fake the chemistry they all have whether they are playing SleepyHouse or Hypnotize,They still have it.All night They sounded like Blind Melon As One. I'm sure when the footage & audio starts to come out Y'all agree that it was a really good performance. Blind Melon As One

That guy in the neck brace was my buddy Kevin. He broke his back and neck four months ago and this was his first night out. He's a huge Melon fan and veteran of numerous Melon shows. Unfortunately he brought a bummer of a date with him and ended up drinking like a fish. I apologize on his behalf if he spilled beer on anyone. On a positive note, the show was AWESOME!

I know the guys or Travis arnt stupid nor blind to what they have together.

Go to a Slayer show for that. Nice meeting you again too, MGR. Hopefully we'll see each other again at another BM show before we do at another Tiger game. Brad, while also not trying to start any arguments, I will say that there is a chance you were watching the show when the drink was poured over my head, because it did happen. I am talking about the top of my head, soaking wet with Vodka, all the way down my back soaking through 2 shirts. I wrung the drink out of my hair like I just got out of the shower. Seems to me that if I was one of the tallest ones there that it would be quite hard to "spill" a drink on the top of my head. At this point, I'm not going to say that it defintely wasn't an accident, if it was then it was a very careless one, but at that point I was full of emotion and a fair amount of beer myself. The people immediately to my right were causing problems all night, as evidenced by their dismissal late in the show, and my wife had already been to the medics to get treatment for a four inch cut on her stomach. I've never been in a fight in my life and certainly wasn't trying to fight any one of 100 people. As for the "rest of the show", which consisted of the last 2/3 of Time, I wanted someone to fess up. I turned back and was asking everyone "who?", as in who did it, not asking anyone to fight. But I know I didn't handle it well. In hindsight it's easy to say I should have just dealt with the drink over my head and enjoyed Time, but oh well, live and learn. No use crying over spilled Vodka, or in my case, most likely poured. I have no problem playing up front, but drenched Vodka hair and an injured wife due to someone else's carelessness and inconsideration could get the best of anyone. Sorry to Brad and anyone else that felt I was trying to fight them.
