Thanks for the address Cody. I think that's a great start. My idea was for everyone to actually address a letter to the town of Dayton. As far as I can tell, it seems Lafayette gets all the revenue from the vigil since that's where everything is. I didn't see much of Dayton but I understand it to be small. I imagine if Dayton were to receive a significant amount of revenue from the vigil they wouldn't be as opposed. I was looking for an address for Town Hall or something like that. Do you know of any official address (specifically whatever committee Nel had to appear before) that we can send letters to as well.
Sorry for dropping the ball on this folks. I really had the best intentions on getting everyone into this but I've been a busy little bee since I'm home.

Dayton and Lafayette are the same thing when it come to Taxes and revenue, its all the same County and thats how our Taxes and revenues are based on, but im going to search and see if i can find something for Dayton, keep in mind, theres a good chance Dayton doesnt even have a town hall, this place is literary a Half mile long! its not big at all as people who have been there can see. If anything we might have to send it to the county Tippecanoe County so ill see whats up..

Dayton is so small---I didn't spend any money there--I went right down the road to Lafayette where all the places are to speNd money---but like cOdy said ---it's all basically the same town--all the money goes to the same grOup------------

I would just like to say a few things in this regard:
First, this "little town" probably gets more business in 3 days than it does all year, I mean come on! There's only a couple hotels and a handful of restaurants...
Second, this is for remembering and honoring another person who has made such profound lasting memories that are shared each and every year. It may be like one big party, but it's not. It's a big gathering by people from ALL OVER THE WORLD to pay their respect to such a wonderful soul!! I picked up one of my favorite melonheads, Lilly, from O'hare airport. She made the effort to come from SERBIA. I mean, seriously. This is no joke. This is the most thoughtful and respectful way to honor such a great person. And for people to go to such lengths to respect and mourn shannon, it would be an outrage to "not allow the vigil to continue." oh, and a breaking of constitutional rights, i.e. freedom.
Last, I truly believe the whole town is not against the vigil. I met people from layfayette that truly love shannon. (and i have to say this in all due respect, but i think that the lady that lives directly next to the graveyard must be the only one complaining. so melonheads, dont be loud by her house, and dont park infront of her driveway. and all should be well. respect this woman, respect the dead. respect nel. and all will be well)
Respect. Remembrance. Revival. This is what the vigil is about.
And how many of you left the vigil with a new, profound feeling of optimism, after the sadness fades?
I did.

If I want to drive to honor Shannon at or near his cemetary, try and stop me. The end.
I am sure I will run into someone doing the same and we can then share the time.

I'm learning to drive, so I hope that I will be ready to by time it rolls around. I don't know if there are any melonheads near lebanon, Ohio who would be willing to let me ride with them. If not we'll see what happens.
