I went, I saw, I rocked! What a completely amazing band they are. Fun, generous and so talented. Oh, and did I mention friendly? I am running out of adjectives for just how wonderful of an experience their concerts are. I also took my son, and I think it changed his life (in a good way!) All in all, it was an incredible adventure for us and I am so glad Blind Melon was his first concert.

the set list was different than what they played in Tulsa in April. They played more of their new stuff (Awesome!) and more from Soup, a few from the first album, the song Soup, and a long jam that became the ripped away version of No Rain and then they played the first release of No Rain (which my son sang along to). After they went off stage, they came back onstage and did an encore performance of several more songs, one of which was Cheetum Street with Tennessee Tuckness (Travis' mom). Let's see what songs I can call to mind in no particular order: 2x4, Wilt, Change, Skinned (they passed out kazoos), For My Friends, Time, I Wonder, Hypnotized, Make A Difference, Wishing Well, Galaxie, Walk, Soak the Sin, ... I was totally sober and yet it was such an intense experience there are parts that are drawing a blank. Luckily we recorded quite a bit of it, have to see what's worth keeping of them and post them to my MySpace with the Tulsa stuff. They did a meet and greet after, and they were so good to my son, I can't thank them enough for that. Oh, and whoever the man was that brought my son a glass of water: thank you again, he really needed that. You're an angel!

Glad that you had a good time. I've had the opportunity of seeing Tennessee perform with the band on two occassions and she blew me away! Passing out kazoos? Damn! I guess once we started throwing kazoos they brought their own
