I finaly saw this movie. It's rare that I really cry during movies but this time I cried like a baby in the end. It turned my head around and made me think about my life. Not because it would be related to the main topic but because of some general ideas that were exposed. And the ending mostly... there's so many things on my mind I can't even think... Amazing movie.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. The only scene I can't stand is when the guy gets his head stomped on the curb, it makes me cringe.

Uh yeah, that was bad. I also can't stand rape scenes (in general). It's definitely one of those movies that make my head turn after it's finished and one of best movies I've seen. The feeling it gave me in the end reminded me of the one after watching Time of the Gypsies. Not the same kind of movie or topic AT ALL, just this feeling of having so many thoughts in your head that you can't organize them...Time of the Gypsies blew me away even much more though. I saw it about 7 years ago and no other movie beat that feeling so far.

American History X-incredible movie! I haven't seen it for a really long time, I remember it wiping me out emotionally. The subject matter was so intense...and Edward Norton was outstanding!

..and Edward Norton was outstanding! I agree, his acting was amazing! He played great all the different periods of his life, really like it was a different person every time.

Yes Barb! It was great how he could illicit such fear and hatred from me while he was such a racist bastard....and then later get me to love him when he became a decent human being!

This is basically my favorite movie because of how powerful the message and the actors are. I hate when people only watch half of the movie or don't pay attention and think it is promoting racism. I always cry at different times in the movie but the end really gets me. I wrote a play of my own about child abuse and added a lot of artistic elements I learned from this movie. The play ended up great and a lot of people commented on the elements I added from this movie.

This movie is timeless, it'll always be viewed in awe. I don't know anyone that thinks this movie is rubbish once they've seen it.

Yes, I agree with your view/opinion. I love this movie! It's def. in my top 10-15. That may not seem that high, but I'm a movie buff so I have lots of movies that I love! When this movie came out it really made me realize what a great actor Edward Norton is! I haven't seen it in years though.
