Last night as I am getting my daughter out of the tub, I heard Blind Melon mentioned and I could hear them give the station ID IPTV (Iowa Public Television). May 21 and 23 there is a half-hour segment on the band. They will be showing some parts of the show they did in Davenport 3-20 and interviews from that day. I'm not equipped to record, so if someone else is, those are the dates.
The venue they played is a place that promotes music heavily. Not bands or the venue, but "roots", expression and the value of it all. Sorry if I am behind on this announcement. I have been away for a bit so I may just be repeating someone else.
Have a wonderfully blessed day.

I don't see it listed on the IPTV website though as a program. If it is going to be on and nobody can record it, I wonder if Public Television would sell the video.

It's on PBS but the call letters are WQPT. The show is "Currents at the Crossroads". May 21 @ 8PM Central time. May 23 @ 10PM.
I have emailed to see if copies may be purchased. I don't know if any of you recall any of my post-show comments about a documentary crew. I'm guessing this is it.

This is the response I got:
Usually we do sell copies of our local programs, but in this case, we did not obtain clearance from Blind Melon to sell copies of their performance. Hopefully you can record the program when it airs. Thanks for writing, and I hope you enjoy the program.

That would be awesome if we could all get out own copies to add to our ever growing collection. I'm still gonna check to see if I get that channel. If I do I will be able to record it on VHS only #meh# . I wonder if VHS still exist these days...

I watched the 1/2 hour show and it was a mix of show footage and interviews with Christopher/Brad/Rogers at the same table. Questions like "what was it like playing again, how did the Travis thing come to happen, chemistry after 10+ years, Nico singing her dad's songs, etc... Brad spoke about the fan base that they knew was still out there because of their myspace and the many other independent sites.
They showed several songs in their entirety. Mouthful No Rain I'll have to watch it again and give a complete list. Those are the only 2 I'm positive about. (I was sleepy when I watched it) They closed out with a few seconds of Travis singing the Fleetwood Mac song.
For anyone in the front, you got some air time. They were shooing from the back of the room and right by Rogers.
One last thing I forgot to mention I noticed from the show itself. The stage is at the end of a very long room. The wall that runs the length of the room to the left of the stage as you look from the audience, had 3 or 4 projection TVs showing what was being recorded. I went to the bar once and it looked to me like Rogers was working some of his best rock and roll moves and watching himself on the big screens. Ham-ing it up a bit. I guess you had to be there.

Thanks soulgruv for your report. I wish we could get our hands on a copy of it. Maybe something will pop up on youtube.
