i apologise if i came off as rude, that was not my intention. i merely tried to come with a good solution to the mess, that we experience these busy BM-days. a solution that would benefit everyone on this board. i appreciate the work that you moderators do, but felt like i could come with a good advice as how to make things even better. if i had send a moderator a PM, then noone else would see my point. of course i can't speak for everyone else, but personally i find "thank you" posts irrelevant and a waste of everybodys time. send a PM if needed be (just not to me). i totally appreciate when others post videos etc, but all people posting a thank you for every show review, video etc makes a lot of reading. i'm not trying to destroy the atmosphere or anything in here, just trying to make the board more easy to navigate.
At the LiveNirvana board, there's a rule that you're not allowed to post unless you've got something to ask/contribute/say (more than just a "thank you"). and it works great! no good spirit has been harmed there, nor will it here.

I understand your intentions are good, but the way you came across upset a lot of people. I think people saying thank you is nice, its a public display of affection and recognition and it doesn't hurt anyone. Next time you have a complaint I would suggest Pm'ing a staff member. Now this thread for Tour Pictures/Videos has gone completely off topic. I assure you that staff will look at things, and see if there is a better way, but even so people might not decide to follow any set of guidelines we set forth in posting. Everyone is too happy and excited and they have every right to be. So as long as the vibe is good and people are happy I won't be a "FORUM NAZI" and go around telling people to post here and there only about this and that only. It may have worked on the "Alice in Chains" forum or "Nirvana" forum, but this is the "BLIND MELON FORUM" and we are a little goofy here.

I explained the logic clearly in my post on the last page as to why we haven't done what you have asked. Staff discussed it long before you brought it up. We're open to suggestions, but you came off rude and condescending in your posts (especially the 2nd one). I know you are used to a different forum where they do things differently, and we appreciate input on how to make things better, but we don't appreciate overt rudeness. That isn't going to get you very far in getting what you want around here.

We post a lot of silliness back and forth over here and everyone seems to love it. I guess we just try to have as few rules as possible and telling people not to post when they dont have something important to say seems taking it too far. We're like a big family here and when family reunites we all know it can get a little messy but it's all in good fun. ;D

let me repeat myself: having a thread for each individual show with all info gathered (pics, links, reviews etc) would be MUCH better! it works really well at the alice in chains forum. MODERATORS??? it's already a complete mess here now... right now there's 10 (!) threads regarding the canal room show: concert review tour pictures/videos official setlist thread canal Room 10/9/07 canal room video (great audio and video) BM at the canal room canal room pre-party question about canal room extra ticket to the canal room canal street (?) show PLEASE SET UP AN OFFICIAL THREAD FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL SHOW - THEN PEOPLE KNOW EXACTLY WHERE TO GO AND CAN SEE WHEN THE LAST POST WAS MADE. on a sidenote: another good thing would be NOT to post multiple thank you's. it's pointless, takes up a lot of space, wastes everybodys time (not just the uploader). uploaders know that whatever they're doing is appreciated. if you still want to say thanks, please send a PM instead or even better - follow their example and post something good. And you thought "Thank-you" posts were a waste of peoples time..... Reading double posts that say the same thing even after your issues were addressed is a waste of MY time. Negativity is not welcomed here....if you are looking for rules for this board I can promise you that negativity being left at the door is one of the most important rules of this forum.

what can i say. sometimes you need to yell a little to be heard.
i wasn't asking people to stop posting silly or goofy stuff - that's what keeps this and any other board alive. no question about it. contributing can be done in many ways.

I checked all of the Canal Room threads and three of them were made by the same person. So even this same person would not post extra info about the Canal shows in the same thread. So it is obvious from this that even if there was an "official" thread for the Canal Room show - this person still would probably have chosen to make a new thread every time. I am seriously not going to worry about stuff like this. I suggest that others not spend too much energy on it either. This is all fun - it's happening - enjoy it!

unless it wasn't possible to open a new post in that particular forum.
i do enjoy it - but i'd enjoy it even more if i didn't have to check 10 posts to find news about a particular show ;D

8-)Everyone smoke an apple and chill!! WELL SAID! Oh and did anyone else notice the 8,000 orbs flying all around Travis in several of the photos? There were alot in Rogers's pic too but not nearly as visible as Travis's photo. #hoonsmiley#

don't you just love it when people take things out of context and at the same time, put words in your mouth?

don't you just love it when people take things out of context and at the same time, put words in your mouth? You know what I just love? When someone says like three times how stupid and pointless it is to say thank you after saying "thank you" in a post just a few days ago and then editing the post a few days later into something a bit different that will hopefully "make more sense". Anyway, on this forum, everyone is free to say thank you a thousand times if they feel like it and in two years no one has ever complained about it so I don't think we'll change that now because it's annoying to one person. Sorry for being a bit rude myself now and bringing up the topic again but I couldn't resist. I think your points about the threads were good but there are nicer ways to say it. Give it time, we'll see how it goes and then maybe change some things.

Now hopping back to the topic of the shows... ;D
Those video's from the NY shows are amazing!! Good sound and picture!! I just love how the crowd is singing super loud to all the songs - and the band is so into it. I noticed on "Mouthful Of Cavities", Brad was singing his lungs out with the crowd, away from the mic. And where is our lovely CT?! Is he hiding in the corner? His extra harmonica solo in Change was amazing. I love this band - it looked like an out of this world show. You can just tell how the crowd is feeding off the band - and the band is feeding of the crowd. It's hard to explain in words, but I'm sure we're all feeling those chills....
