It's really starting to bother me more and more I'm a avid photographer, over a year ago I bought the digital rebel XT to as my advance to digital SLR shooting from 35mm SLR shooting. One day, last winter, I was river side here in Vermont shooting Bartlett Falls not my picture, thank google and I stepped on a rock to get footing, the rock looked normal, no snow no, nothing, but, apparently there was a thin sheen of ice covering it. The result, my foot slipping, me falling on top of my Camera, rendering it useless. Canon wouldn't cover it cause, GOD FOR BID I WAS HONEST. It wasn't there fault it broke, it was mine, therefore, no covering my camera. I make decent money, but can't afford a new one or to get fixed, and today was the pinnacle of my depression about losing my 3rd arm as I liked to call my camera. It's winter, and basically the one year anniversery of it getting broken. No point to this point except I just wanted to vent about it cause I can't do something I love doing anymore a year later.. Thanks, I just needed to get that out

Vent away brotha!
We are neighbors! I live in Berlin, NH... But, I lived in Keene, NH for 4 years. Whodda thunk. I may be able to slice a golf ball using a 3 wood into Vermont from here. hehe..
Sucks about your third arm man! You're a very cool poster here... Maybe some of us can help ya out. You got a PayPal account? If so, let's make you a donation button. That's what we're here for! I'll donate a couple bucks.

I would donate a few bucks to the camera cause! I think that's a good idea Matt!
I just checked amazon, damn....very expensive camera, I am seriously sorry for your loss, that thing costs more than an PS3! It must have killed you to lose it! Did the lens get destroyed too? It looks like they are a little cheaper if you buy them without a lens.

I mean, I can't donate much, sice I am looking for Studio Donations as well... But, I can give a little bit. It may not put a dent in the cost, but something is better than nothing.
So - stychx, you got two people (already) that will toss you a few dolla-dolla bills...

The stock lens survived, and I have a $200 zoom lens I bought with it, thats obviously fine, but just a lawn ornament at the moment. I feel grateful and overwelmed people want to donate money but, I just can't, I do have a paypal account, no idea how to use it to accept donations. I just can't though. Keep your money. The pics I get to take to toss on myspace, I've been using my roomates crappy 3.2 mp kodak camera of doom. (sarcasm) I'm really speecless atm, so I'm going going to click post

Styckx, I'm sorry for what happened, I'm a photographer too and I can't imagine what I'd do if this would happen with my Nikon D70s! I would probably have to wait for years before I could afford to buy a camera like this again!
I wanted to say...since you said that now you can't do what you love any more...why don't you buy just a cheap camera? I mean not like the cheapest one, I don't know how much your camera costed but you can make good pics and have a pleasure doing it even with a camera that doesn't cost so much...I'm saying this but at the same time I can totaly see how when you have no money even a little can be too much...
In Slovenia we can find old (not digital) proffessional cameras really cheap. You can get a Praktica for about 50bucks I think and if it's just for pleasure, it can be very good. You have Zeiss lens with this camera, they are one of the best. I don't know if old cameras are so cheap in the states too, but I know that if I wouldn't have money and absolutely wanted a good camera I'd but an old, all manual one. They are cheap and do good pics! (ok, the photographer is the only one who can make good pics, lol, but I wanted to say that you can get a good "technical" quality with them).
Anyway, just thought maybe you could find a cheaper way to keep having pleasure doing pics until you can save money for a camera you would like to have. It would be too bad if you'd stop creating because of it. #smileyhug#

I just can't though, the only way I would ever accept money if somehow you guys secretly gathered the funds and found a way to have it delivered to my doorstep, which is impossible Seriously, I appreciate it, but I just wanted to vent, and I'm floored by the support and offers, but I just can't accept. I'm one of those that would give a arm for someone but would never accept a arm from someone ya know? I just can't do it
