Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone out there has Blind Melon's in their life... They can be neighbours, or just people you know... Maybe someone who bludges off you (i think Americans call it mooching)...
For those who don't know, Brad came up with the idea Blind Melon when he heard his father call his neighbors Blind Melon's...They were no gooders who were not going to achieve anything significant in their lifetime...
I have an Italian family next door where the parents are almost 80 y.o. and cant speak English, and the son is almost 40, has been married for ten years, and they live with their parents in this tiny house, and all the son does is wash his boat and look at his wheels with his loser mates... The married couple fight all the time and you can hear the constant screaming of swear words and the blast of their stereo pumping out crappy dance music at 6AM... You'd think at his age, with a wife who has been there 10 years, that they might strive to get a house or something...
I know this should be in the things that annoy you thread, but these are true Blind Melon's so im just curious if anyone else has them...

At least once a week, the people in the apartment across from me have an all-out screaming match at each other. They have two small children, and these screaming matches take place right in front of their kids. Even if they sent the kids to their rooms, they could still hear every word. The reason that I know the kids can hear it, is because the whole apt building can hear these people. And they just cut each other down until nothing is left. They hate each other, and don't seem to care that they do this in front of their children. These children have done nothing to deserve these parents, and it breaks my heart. If I knew that there was physical violence going on, then I would call the police, but I have never seen or heard any sign of physical violence. Just an extremely unhappy living situation for everyone involved. I don't know if this falls under the category that you are referring to (Blind Melon's), but it sure is a bummer. . .

well if we're going by opinions, by my neighbours and parents standards I am the biggest blind melon that ever walked this earth #smiliesexydance# Im sure that's not true! My sister-in-law is the only blind melon that I know. She is 28, has two kids 11 and 8 with her first husband. She lived with her mother when she was married to her first husband and then they got divorced. She started dating my brother when she was pregnant with her second child. She started living with my brother shortly after the child's birth and now they are married. She has never had a job, uses her child support money to support her smoking and drinking. Her 11 yer old daughter wears more makeup than I do. She's a complete waste of the air that we breathe.

Why do you say that bogo? Well I don't consider myself to be one but my parents are constantly on my ass to go to college, they always seem to forget the money part of the college experience and all my neighbours have called the cops on me at least once because of the music being too loud or they're too many people on the lawn ...#blahblah# so now whenever I talk to them (they are all people in their 40's at least) they always tell me I should be partying less and going to school. #goddammit# why can't people leave my drunken ass alone and let me live my life.

It will be that way for the next few years John. People still ask me why I'm not in art school. I don't know.. because I'm 26 and I can't afford 30,000 dollars a year? Leave me alone. Aside from that, most of the people I know that DID go to art school, are waiting tables and working office jobs... screw that.

I think a lot of people don't understand how expensive college is nowadays! Some 22 year olds graduate from college $100,000 in debt from student loans...and the economy is so bad that you're lucky if you get an entry level job that has nothing to do with what you majored in.

It really is frustrating if you have to pay for it yourself. Face it, there aren't many college students out there who have parents who can pay that much each year or who get full scholarships. It so sad.

I heard it's easy for americans to get a job there. So it isn't true?

It depends on what you want to do. Some industries are oversaturated and people are being laid-off from their jobs and aren't hiring....other industries are thriving. A lot of jobs are being outsourced to other countries so corporations don't have to pay high wages. It really all depends on what you want your career to be.
